Rev. Dr. Ernie Rivera files for U.S. Senate, addresses Florida’s insurance crisis, prescription drug costs, and workforce protection

Press release from Ernie Rivera For Senate

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Rev. Dr. Ernest J. Rivera, a bold, unapologetic conservative leader and former U.S. Senate candidate, officially re-enters the 2026 race for the United States Senate in Florida — bringing with him a powerful message: Faith, Family, Florida First. A seasoned minister, educator, entrepreneur, and national voice for Christian values, Rivera is not a career politician — he is a fighter. With nearly five decades as an ordained Presbyterian minister, decades of leadership in education, and a proven record of building organizations that serve communities at home and abroad, Rivera is stepping forward at a time when Florida — and America — needs Strength, Affordability, Sustainability, and Security.

He comes with complete clarity and deep conviction. “I’ve been in the trenches,” Rivera stated. “I’ve served the poor, built schools, protected children, and stood for truth when it wasn’t popular. Washington doesn’t need another polished politician — it needs a man of God with a backbone.” Drawing comparisons to the bold, America-first leadership style of President Donald Trump, Rivera promises to deliver affordability by confronting corruption while defending the Constitution and providing every family in Florida an opportunity to live their American Dream. Standing firm to secure the border and protecting families who have been here for 10, 15, and 20 years, working hard, paying their taxes, raising their children, in our schools and churches. “Radical ideologies have infiltrated our schools and culture. I will protect the innocence of America’s children. We are done playing nice while our nation is being dismantled,” Rivera added. “It’s time to take it back.”

Rivera’s campaign is already mobilizing pastors, business leaders, and grassroots patriots across all 67 counties in Florida, where he has established an active network for the past 25 years. With a clear mission: to restore moral leadership, defend religious liberty, and put Floridians first — every time, without apology. “This is not just a campaign—it’s a movement, it’s MY CALLING,” Rivera declared. “If you believe in God, in family, and in the future of America, then stand with me. Together, we will make Florida stronger than ever before — and send a message to Washington they will never forget.”

  • Sounds like he’s running to pursue an American Christian theocracy that no one is asking for.

  • Religious officials should NOT mix politics and religion. It’s popular on both sides but very dangerous. Atheists too have shed lots of blood in recent history.
Instead, everybody should do as Jesus commanded and separate “God and Caesar”, which is why America has been so successful compared to the Old World. Look at the Mideast today, we see Zionists and Islamists fighting to the end. Maybe that’s God’s plan, we don’t know.

  • He uses the word conservative, BUT he also hypes welfare as a prime foundation. Not putting a party affiliation pretty well seals a misleading post.
