Rittenhouse sentenced on child exploitation charges

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Kyle Allen Rittenhouse, 25, was sentenced today to 5 years in state prison, followed by 5 years of sexual offender probation, after pleading nolo contendere to three felonies: using a computer to solicit a minor, possession with intent to promote child pornography, and transmission of material harmful to minors with an electronic device.

Rittenhouse was originally arrested on November 19, 2021, after Gainesville Police Department (GPD) officers, acting on a Cyber Tip, searched his residence. Rittenhouse was interviewed by detectives and acknowledged ownership of the Snapchat account in question and the possession and sharing of child sexual abuse material through his account. According to a release from GPD, he also admitted to sending images of his penis to young girls whom he presumed to be minors. Rittenhouse was originally charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, one count of distribution of child pornography, one count of solicitation of a minor, and one count of transmission of harmful material to minors; he posted bail of $400,000 four days after his arrest. Ten counts of possession of child pornography were dropped as part of the plea deal.

Rittenhouse was sentenced by Judge James Colaw to five years in state prison on each count, to be served concurrently. That will be followed by five years of sexual offender probation. Rittenhouse will also be designated a Sexual Offender.

  • I don’t agree life in prison works for me he gets out in less than 5 years then no guarantee he will not hurt some little girl

    • Agree; but, the real question is why so many of these pervs here in Gainesville? The per-capital in this city/county must be twice or more than the state or country avg. as I don’t believe that gangsville pd and/or current ACSO is so much more efficient as catching these nuts.

  • Coleslaw is another woke judge that needs to be gone! This punk is scum and hopefully finds his true love in prison!

    • We need someone who is organized and can keep a true and accurate data base on how these attorneys and judges are handling these criminals. Then post as each comes up for reelection.

    • Judge Colaw is probably the most conservative, harshest sentencing judge in the 8th circuit, just ask any prosecutor or defense attorney.

  • There is another kid named Kyle Rittenhouse in another part of the country. I wonder if he’s heard about this story. His name has already been slandered enough by the media. I hope no one gets the two Kyle’s confused.

    • I thought for a second it was him from my email, glad it isn’t, knew it couldn’t be. The good Kyle Rittenhouse shot in self defense 2 people just like this bad Kyle Rittenhouse.

  • Very sneaky! And also well done. Great job not mentioning the fact that he has a different middle name than the guy from Illinois that shot and killed 2 people in Kenosha, then was found innocent. Many folks will confuse him for the other Kyle and this artilce will appear in Google searches. What a trash news outlet you are.

  • University admissions offices everywhere will use Google search to block the Hero Kyle from Kenosha, from college entry somewhere. This Kyle will have *fun* in prison, though.

  • Yet another example of law enforcement bringing a case to prosecution with several charges yet either the prosecution failed to convince the judge or the judge failed to properly sentence. Way to many charges for a five year prison term. It will not matter that he gets five years probation or that he will be out on a sex offender registery. He will commit the same or worse crimes again. This type of criminal can not be cured of his demented behavior.

  • Desperate plea to confuse the people on the name , this garbage happens million times a year .
Not going to work nazi’s, unlike the hard left ,we the people get all the facts before slandering someone’s name .
    This p.o.s. Rittenhouse deserves life.
As for the other long live the Second Amendment!
