Rural Concerns Advisory Committee Vacancies
Press release from Alachua County
Alachua County is seeking applicants to fill one currently vacant position and four positions with terms that expire September 30, 2020, on the Rural Concerns Advisory Committee. The County Commission established the Committee in 2003 to provide guidance and advice to the Board regarding rural concerns and issues in Alachua County. They generally meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 4 p.m.
The Committee’s responsibilities are to establish the importance of local rural, unincorporated agricultural and historic settlements. The Committee also assists in the development and evaluation of policies and programs affecting the rural areas of the County, represents the rural areas in the County’s various community planning processes and hearings, and assists in the recognition and determination of the needs of the County’s rural residents and advise the Board accordingly.
Positions are available for:
- One Alternate Member Chosen At Large
- Two members Actively Involved in Agriculture and/or Silviculture
- One member from the Alachua County Extension Office
- One member Residing in Unincorporated Area Outside Urban Cluster

The RCAC. People appointed by those liberal Demorat County Commissioners to “look out for” the interests of the rural areas of the county as it gets annexed and paved over by the small towns. The rural areas that “have no representation” according to some, even though they are represented by the RCAC.

This morning on his pudcast, one Ward Scott badmouthed Commissioner Byerly and voiced his support for the Secession of Springs County. Other mornings this so called Ward Scott likes to imply Communist leanings by calling one commissioner “Hutch “Karl Marx” Hutchinson” and we all know Commies are Bad.

Interesting, as this so called Ward Scott works for Byerly and Hutchinson.
He is the Chair of the RCAC and has been for some 12 years.

In other countries, advocating secession from the political leaders you were appointed by and work for would be called “Treason.” Guess the rules are different in liberal Alachua County.

Yes, operators of a private facebook page do not have to follow the First Amendment, as it only applies to governments. But do you really think these thin skinned short tempered bullies will quit banning people who disagree with them as soon as they have a government to run? The recent actions of the Gainesville City Commission regarding citizen comments and emails show otherwise, and these are liberal Democrats. Look under the skin of a conservative Republican and you find a closet fascist hiding there.
