  • Thank you, Mr. Andrews. It was just a matter of time before they would oust you for not being this ridiculous and dangerous school board’s do-boy.

  • What’s wrong with our current Superintendent? All of you sports fans out there, hope you’re getting used to having “losing” seasons. How many UF Head Coaches have been here over the past 15 years or so?
    Football – 10
    Basketball – 4
    Volleyball – 1
    Baseball – 2

Now, how many Superintendents has the SBAC had? 5? 6? 7?

The “wins” don’t happen fast enough or there aren’t enough of them. Sometimes it’s the Board who decides to part ways because they don’t agree with the policies, experience and knowledge of the candidate THEY hired. The obvious is that without continuity of leadership the system fails. It fails the people it supposedly serves. In this case, the staff, the parents and our most precious resource, our children – are the ones made to suffer.

Some will argue that new ideas need to be inserted into the system. My argument is how well have those ideas been working of late? Those board members who keep trying to insert their personal agendas into the school system may be the culprits behind the continued shortcomings within our district. Maybe it’s the lack of honesty. Wasn’t it less than a year ago that one board member said there was “no search for a superintendent in the plans”? Are you certain they can still be trusted to do what’s right for all children? I’m not so certain about that.

Some Board members talk about how poorly the East side students are performing. How they don’t have the same resources. That’s just an excuse for not acknowledging the real issue. The children have the same resources. What they don’t have is the same discipline, the same parental support, or the same parents.

Perhaps the reason they want to “search” for a new Superintendent is because the current one plays a little too close to “right” field than he does to “left” field for their liking.

But hey, let’s spend thousands of dollars looking for something we already have.

    • You are on target! There have been 3 Superintendents in the past 4 years.

There are two (3 if you count the one that was replaced by the Governor) board members who have been in place for all 3 Superintendents and the biggest problems of discipline and achievement scores remain the same!

Who should parents and taxpayers get rid of? Unfortunately, enough voters depend on the SBAC 3 avoiding institution of any real discipline (they need the free childcare for their 1st – 8th graders), nor do they want the ACPS to start enforcing achievement standards and hold their child back for not “making the grade!”

  • The school board and city commission go through management people like castor oil through a toddler.
It is very safe to say that the positions of city manager and school board superintendent are not career positions.
The money wasted for a ‘national search’ to find the perfect candidate is a joke.
Keep voting blue people, you’ll figure it out eventually.

  • At the last school board meeting a very wise gentleman (Mr. Rudy) stood up and said

“I’m not satisfied. It’s seems like a lot of bickering between you all… and it seems like it’s trickling down to the employees. We all need to get along. And we need to sit down and make rational decisions. A lot of the times you might get written reports that this person did that and this person did that sort of thing. Do your investigation properly. Don’t just jump to the conclusions. Do your investigations. Now if Mr. Andrews leaves here… I heard y’all saying something about a search… if he leaves here were gonna be in crisis next year. Can we find somebody to replace him? And then get the next school year up and running properly? I don’t know. But that’s a decision y’all got to make. And y’all need to think about it hard and fair. What we gonna do? Cause this school year is closing out and the next one coming in quickly. We don’t have a bout a month off before we need to be ready to the next school year. We need to get this ball rolling. We need to start now.”

What a mess. Setting a fine example for the students. Cancel culture at its finest.
