Season’s greetings from Mayor Ward

Press release from City of Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Today Gainesville Mayor Harvey Ward sent out the following message:

As the year comes to a close, I am reminded of the beauty and diversity of the holiday season — it is a time for reflection, gratitude, and connection with our family and friends.

Whether you are lighting the flames of Hanukkah, cherishing the traditions of Christmas, or embracing the principles of Kwanzaa, I hope your celebrations bring you peace, joy, and renewal. And as we step into a new year, may it be filled with promise, prosperity, and hope for all.

With heartfelt wishes for a season of joy,

Harvey

  • Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah. Those are your choices.

How come everybody’s not masked up in that woketard picture Harvey posted?

  • Season greeting to all. I like to season racks and racks of baby back ribs then I greet those seasons by stuffing them in my face hole. Like I said next year is a new year which I will govern in the same old ways. Basically what I mean is be prepared for additional increases in property taxes, fees, and surcharges. And if you don’t like what I’ve done to the parking downtown, just wait till this year when we will remove all parking spots and allow spaces for only bicycles and the shopping carts of the homeless. Oops. I have to go. There’s another one of our new ambassadors at my door they are here to drop off my monthly kickback from their $2.3 million paycheck, of course you know I am kidding, right?

  • Why are we suppose to celebrate kwanzaa? A holiday started in 1966 by a black racist that wanted to highjack Christmas and Christianity as a “whites” only holiday and religion. This time of year is for Christmas and Hanukkah. It is not for making another attempt to further divide America.

  • Well I should have known the regular haters on this site could not, for one millisecond, have any type or grace towards those of us who celebrate various December holidays, or those of us that don’t celebrate at all. Give it a rest, especially this time of year. If you can only be hatelful and ugly then just keep quiet. Geesh, you all should be ashamed.
