ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – All Alachua County and City of Gainesville waste collections that were missed today (Thursday) will be picked up tomorrow (Friday). Regular collection schedules will resume on Monday, October 3, 2022.
County collection centers will reopen tomorrow and resume their regular schedule.
The Leveda Brown Transfer Station ( 5115 N.E. 63 Avenue, Gainesville) will reopen tomorrow. The transfer station, which normally closes at noon on Saturday, will remain open until 2 p.m. that day.
What about the people whose garbage is supposed to be regularly picked up on Friday? No one picked up our garbage this week. Do we have to wait until Friday, October 7 to have our garbage picked up? Very unfair. If this is the case, we should all receive a cut in our next bill for the missed pickup this week.
Where do you live? High Springs announced Saturday pickup for missed Friday pickup, but there was no other announcement about Friday pickups.
