SFHS Girls Flag Football has successful weekend at 2024 Preseason Classic

ALACHUA, Fla. – The Santa Fe High School competitive Girls Flag Football Team is off to another great season! The Santa Fe High School Lady Raider Flag Football Team and Head Coach Joe Tillman were invited to compete in the 2024 Preseason Classic at TIAA Bank Field (Home of the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars) The competition was held this past weekend, February 16-18, in Jacksonville, Florida.
SFHS’ Lady Raiders excelled in the competition and won both games they played in the Preseason Classic. The team and coach were recognized for their discipline, both on and off the field. SFHS’ Quarterback Brooke Zeller, a sophomore, went on to compete and represent Santa Fe High School in the College Showcase and the Quarterback Challenge. At the conclusion of the Preseason Classic, Brooke was selected/recognized as one of the top 20 athletes from the weekend competition. Her performance earned her the opportunity to be scouted to participate on the U17 USA National team!
The Santa Fe High School Lady Raiders Flag Football team would like to thank the community for their continued support. Their next game is Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 6 p.m. at the Hal Brady Recreational Complex (14300 NW 146th Ave, Alachua, FL) vs. St. John Lutheran (Ocala, FL).
I have a sad feeling these girls would have destroyed my flag football team back in the day.
Of course, we were called, The Cream Puffs.
No one feared us.
