State Road 200 (U.S. 301) resurfacing begins in Hawthorne on April 22

Press release from Florida Department of Transportation

HAWTHORNE, Fla. – A project to resurface State Road 200 (U.S. 301) from State Road 20 to State Road 26 begins Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

The project includes milling and resurfacing, base work, drainage improvements, curbs, gutters, highway signing, bridge pier strengthening, and other incidental construction.

Traffic will be maintained in accordance with FDOT design standards throughout the duration of the project. No lane closures on State Road 200 will be allowed from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Work will typically occur at night, Monday through Friday.

Anderson Columbia Co., Inc. was awarded the $12.5 million project. The project is estimated for completion in spring 2026, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.

Stay informed about lane closures and roadwork in your area by following FDOT District 2 at @MyFDOT_NEFL on X, or at MyFDOTNEFL on Facebook.

  • Unmentioned in the press release is the obvious fact that federal money will be a large part of the work, given it’s a federal highway.
