Supervisor of Elections Office to do outreach at MLK Center, Naturalization Ceremony, and Unitarian Universalist Fellowship

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – Next week, the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Office will be participating in several voter outreach events across Alachua County.
On Monday, January 19, the office will be staffing a table at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Holiday Celebration taking place at the Martin Luther King Jr. Multipurpose Center (1028 Northeast 14th Street, Gainesville). The event will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
On Wednesday, January 21, the office will be assisting newly naturalized citizens with registering to vote at the Naturalization Ceremony taking place in Gainesville.
The ceremony will be held at the United States District Court Northern Florida District Courthouse in Gainesville from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The courthouse is located at 401 SE 1st Avenue in Gainesville. In addition to registering to vote, newly naturalized citizens will be given an opportunity to learn about the voting and elections process in Florida and Alachua County.
Finally, on Sunday, January 25, the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Office will be presenting information about voting, upcoming elections, and serving as an election worker at services being held at the Unitarian Universality Fellowship Church (4225 NW 34th St, in Gainesville). Attendees will also be able register to vote or update their voter registration and request a vote-by-mail ballot after services.
I wonder how many non-citizens will wind up with absentee ballots? Sounds like an all around effort to get some of the millions illegally let in by the Joe & Cami Comedy Show to vote Democrat which was the main reason they were let in. Need more ICE workers to get these criminals out, particularly the rapists and murderers.

On ICE and violent criminals?
President Donald Trump premised his mass deportation agenda on the idea that he will be “returning millions and millions of criminal aliens.” Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem has repeatedly claimed that they are arresting the “worst of the worst.” New nonpublic data from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) leaked to the Cato Institute reveal a different story.
Of people booked into ICE custody this fiscal year (since October 1, 2025):
Nearly three in four (73 percent) had no criminal conviction.
Nearly half had no criminal conviction nor even any pending criminal charges.
Only 8 percent had a violent or property criminal conviction.
Only 5 percent had a violent criminal conviction.
A majority of criminal convicts had vice, immigration, or traffic convictions.

It doesn’t matter if they’re violent or not. Most citizens are not okay with immigrants coming here illegally. Follow the immigration laws and there’s nothing to worry about.
It would be awesome if you spoke with some of these folks and ask them why in hell they want to be citizens under current circumstances!

WOW! It doesn’t get any more blatant than Kim Barton. First, previously recruiting Democrat votes at the jail and now this? Seems they’re leaving out most of the ‘working and tax paying’ class.
I would urge caution at the Naturalization Ceremony. Sounds like it’s an event that will attract ICE, as has happened in other cities.
