Support group for adult survivors of sexual violence
Press release from Alachua County
ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – Alachua County Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center is starting a support group for adult survivors of sexual violence. It is open to women and non-binary survivors. The group will meet online on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. for eight weeks, beginning March 19, 2024. There is no cost, but participants must register by March 13.
Support groups allow room for survivors of violence to openly discuss what happened to them and how it continues to impact their lives. It also provides tools to process what they’ve survived.
“Surviving sexual violence can be an incredibly isolating experience,” said Victim Advocate Counselor Ashley Flattery. “We are grateful to be able to offer this safe space for survivors to join together and support each other on their journeys towards healing and recovery.”
To register or for more information, contact Ashley Flattery at 352-672-0205.
What? It is only ‘open to women and non-binary survivors.”
