Teens arrested for vehicle burglaries in Jonesville

Marcoles Williams, Jr.

Staff report

NEWBERRY, Fla. – Marcoles Williams, Jr., 18, and Brandon J. Debose, Jr., 14, of Newberry, were arrested early this morning and charged with vehicle burglaries in the Connemara neighborhood in Jonesville.

At about 6 a.m. on Sunday, Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 14500 block of W. Newberry Road after calls were received about three individuals pulling door handles and breaking into vehicles in the Connemara neighborhood. Deputies established a perimeter and saw two males walking eastbound on Newberry road, wearing dark clothing and hoodies. As the two males approached a gas station at 14300 W. Newberry Road, a deputy made contact with them and detained them.

The two males were identified as Williams and Debose; Williams was reportedly carrying a concealed firearm.

Post Miranda, both subjects denied burglarizing any vehicles or being in the Connemara neighborhood.

Two victims positively identified Williams as one of the individuals involved in the burglaries, but they were unable to identify Debose. However, deputies used surveillance video from the neighborhood to identify Debose as one of the suspects. Both suspects reportedly live in Brookside Apartments in Jonesville.

Four of the vehicle owners decided to pursue criminal charges against the suspects; two additional vehicle owners decided against pursuing charges.

Williams has been charged with four counts of armed burglary of a vehicle, possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent (someone between 18 and 24 who has been convicted of a charge that would be a felony for an adult), and conspiracy to commit burglary. Williams has two juvenile felony convictions.

Debose has been charged as a juvenile with four counts of burglary of an unoccupied vehicle and conspiracy to commit burglary.

Bail will be set on Monday morning.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • As for the two houses that decided against pressing charges, my dog would be relieving himself in these ‘neighbors’ front yard every day and I’d be sure to call them cowards at every subsequent HOA meeting. Pathetic

    • Your real miserable worrying about sum that don’t got to do with you

      • No Name, you should consider going back to English class.

    • I agree! What a shame they refuse to pursue charges. If they don’t learn consequences at this age and get off without any consequences it will just escalate to bigger stuff!

  • When they got that section 8 apartments in Jonesville I said there goes the neighborhood. I was right

  • I wonder why victims didnt want to press charges. These two turds need to be flushed. But maybe they were pent up with anxiety and could use their words to describe their feelings.

  • Parents should be real proud 👏🏼 just a bunch of teenagers running around getting into trouble in that apartment complex. They don’t care.

    • Yeah but they got the government tax credits for these lost souls.
      Now they’re society’s problem.

  • The parents of these thugs should be held responsible. They also should be evicted from these apartments. Is it any wonder people don’t want this in their neighborhoods?

  • WTF so Jonesville has section 8 apts too? I guess the elites need their “helping class” real close, everywhere in the world 💩🤡👹

  • They’ll be out and grifting before the next low tide.

  • Here is your sign, “I have a freaky a$$ hairdo, stealing and sell/using drugs is my game. Best watch your back around me, I’m a bad a$$ and everybody owes me”.
These kids need a haircut and 8 weeks of Marine Corp Boot Camp continuing with 2 years service learning respect and discipline. As a teenager in the 60’s, I remember well boys given the choice of Military Service or Marianna. The ones I knew that went in the service turned out to be productive citizens and others made the military a career.
Sitting in the AC, watching TV and having 3 meals and a bed is not getting it. Bring back the work camps and the military draft.

    • Baby this man go to work every day there’s no reason for him to steal 💯

  • Put there asses under the prison and throw the key away, nothing but street garbage

  • Great, now we have section 8 housing in Jonesville. More thugs and gangbangers to ‘livin’ up the place. Lock your cars, and please don’t leave your gun in your car. Carry it….as it appears you might need it.

  • How nice. Both these teens live and do their “work” in the beautiful conservative utopia of Springs County. Could not pick a nicer place.

    • But unlike Gainesville, the law enforcement response seems to catch them more times than not thanks to lawful citizens reporting. Gainesville liberals seem more reluctant to call because they dont want to hurt someone’s feelings about being a criminal. Thanks for playing.

  • Dang, the church choir gonna be missing 2 male voices. I hope they make it to bible study on Tuesday. I almost forgot, they have a meeting with UF’s Nuclear Engineering department on Thursday

  • Y’all so funny talking about section 8 just because there black don’t mean that there on section 8
