Texas attorney arrested for breaking into Gainesville home to recover ‘spiritual stick’

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Candice Shantell Patrick, 35, an attorney from Collin, Texas, has been arrested for breaking into a Gainesville home while the residents were sleeping; she claimed she was trying to recover a “spiritual stick” that one of the residents had taken from her at a recent “Ancestral Spirits” convention.

At about 5:12 a.m. on June 22, Gainesville Police Department officers responded to a residence at St. Croix Apartments (829 SW 5th Avenue), where the victims said they had been asleep when they heard someone banging on their back door with a stick.

The victims said the suspect went to the front of their apartment and started banging on the windows with another stick she had picked up from the ground; one of the windows shattered, and the suspect entered the apartment.

Doorbell camera video reportedly showed the suspect leaving through the front door, but she then went back into the apartment through the front door, and officers detained Patrick inside the apartment a short time later. The officer reported that all of these events were captured by the victim’s doorball camera.

The victims said they did not know Patrick, and they didn’t know why she was in their apartment. They said they never left their bedroom while Patrick was inside their residence, and they watched everything through the doorbell camera.

Post Miranda, Patrick reportedly said she just wanted her “spiritual stick” back from the victims’ apartment. She said she knew one of the victims, and he had taken her “spiritual stick” from a recent “Ancestral Spirits” conference. She reportedly would not say how she knew her “spiritual stick” was in the victims’ apartment.

Patrick has been charged with burglary of an occupied residence. She has no criminal history, and she told Court Services that she is an attorney in Texas who has been in Alachua County for about five days. Judge Meshon Rawls ordered her released on her own recognizance.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • More proof that law degrees only make peeps feel above the law — and get in debt for it 👿🤡

    • The Texas bar needs to know about her Florida arrest…they may suspend her license for committing a crime in Florida.. I don’t think she’s a lawyer…she may be a phony lawyer like the Zion DEI hire the city used for mediatons… they didn’t do their due diligence…relied on his phony website… her website looks suspect…I write better than that…

      • She’s pro hac vice in Texas…which means she’s not licensed in Texas.

Where is she licensed? …what state? The same place the Zion guy is that’s in jail?

You can’t practice law and have criminal charges..

I see her website and then she’s on another suspect website trying to build internet presence…

        I smell cabbage 🥬

What state is she licensed in and can practice in good standing? They need to know about this burglary charge in Florida..

  • A “spiritual stick”!!!!?? Sounds like her spiritual guidance lead her to her stick. They better be careful!!! All of her charges will be dropped guaranteed!!

    • Probably the part about being hit too many times with the stupid stick. That’s the only reason someone would be stupid enough to come all the way from Texas to Gainesville to steal a stick back.

  • This is so fishy, Parts of what’s really going on is missing. 5:19 am why would you seek a spiritual stick this time of the morning? This must be a really spiritual stick!

  • So she practices witchcraft.
Its crazy how these black lawyers do everything but help their community.

They only show up when a black kid broke the law and got hurt, they never show up for the black man that did nothing wrong and suffered an injustice(Crump).

All the people in the black community that were supposed to represent it and enrich it, failed their communities.

Look at all the black lawyers in Gainesville, Martin, Mcdonald, Means, Pierre, look at their records they ain’t never won not real cases or trials, and have achieved more successful outcomes for their white clients than the minority ones.

Someone please tell me WTF the Chestnuts have actually done to improve Alachua County or the City, or the lives of the districts and communities they represent, its just an old bunch of sorority heifers, and now we know there never nothing godly about the Divine 9, they wanted to be like the white college kids sooooooo bad, they created their own “Greek Fraternaties”.

Why is it that all the leaders of the black community are frauds, grifters, and shiesters?

From Politicians, to Judges, literally indictments all over this country at least a couple every month.

The black community is trash because the educated ones only desire is to emulate white society, which means leaving their own community behind.

Why is it, that a half-breed is always chosen to speak for the black community or a woman and not a full blooded negroe male?

    • Fun fact, when this journey first started, I reached out to Ted Yoho’s office, they listened, took the documentation and tried to help, there was only one problem.

I did not live in Yoho’s district, I lived in Watson’s.
Yoho’s staffers told me they wanted to help and they reviewed everything but unfortunately I have to go to Clovis for any action to be taken.

When I tried to contact Clovis’s office and do the same thing as with Yoho, Watson secretary a black lady I knew from childhood, would not even hear the issue and pass it forward.

Think about it Yoho’s office was ready to fight for this you black man and the injustice he suffered, Even Perry told me one day when I saw him at the BBQ spot on 13th, if there’s anything he can do, let him know.

What was the problem, I didn’t live in Perry or Yoho’s district, I had to go to Watson who looked like me, but refused to give me the same respect and effort as the two white politicians.

      • So when I see what’s going on in District 20 down south, ask yourself why does a Jewish woman think she has a chance in a black district?

Because in that black district only the friends, family and supporters of the status quo benefit from that black person being in power, the community continues to suffer while signs, memorials, parks and plaques are put up, yet no real substantive change occurs.

Wasserman Schultz all day, because if those who have had the power were doing such a good job and their communities loved them, there is no way a Jewish woman could just walk in and think she has a chance, but she does have a chance because all the black leaders are grifters, shiesters, and frauds.

  • “…and she told Court Services that she is an attorney in Texas who has been in Alachua County for about five days.” Did she actually have to show proof or do the courts now just take one’s word for such things now?

    • Did anyone check to see if she’s really a lawyer and what law school she attended? She got her law degree from “Texas voodoo U”?

Why did Meshan Rawls ROR her? Common courtesy?

      • No, lack of criminal history.
There are rules and statues governing bail, you should read them to get a better insight on “bail”.

        • She’s an officer of the court who committed a crime in another state. What’s going to compel her to come back to Florida to face her charges?

          …I think she’s an imposter…

a crazy person who broke into someone’s house looking for her magic wand

…the same magic wand 🪄 she whipped her law degree up with and her lousy website…

          Next headline:

“Judge Meshawn Rawls ROR’s fake lawyer from Texas who broke into someone’s home looking for her Magic wand “

She should have been required to post a bond because she doesn’t live in Florida, but in Texas.

      • I click the one link in the article I see and this is what I get:

“Vendors invited to participate in annual Disability Awareness Expo”… I don’t see a link to her law firm there..

          • I’m going to have to read about her credentials…

            she’s not a fake
Lawyer like that Zion guy the C of G hired to do mediations?

The DEI department hired that guy and he was a total fraud…the AC recently had an article about him..

I think he’s in Jail right now..
