  • Seems they always have a 10-year plan for something.
    They also have an accompanying plan that plans nothing when their plan doesn’t pan out.

    Gainesville’s liberal voters—taken advantage of again because of their [insert adjective here].

    Thanks Jake! Some will just fall back to their continued denial; they’ve become so accustomed to and accepting of City Leadership’s perpetual cycle of excuses and procrastination—why should we expect any different?

  • More like they have a ten year plan to waste more taxpayer money all the while inviting bums, drug addicts, and criminals to our fair(y) city to ‘stimulate’ business to go elsewhere.

      if the plan doesn’t work, then it needs to sunset.

      Personal responsibility is the key!

      If your friends give up on you, if your family gives up on you, if your church gives up on you, then you’re just an asshole…

      don’t pander to the bums…

      if you commit crimes, incarceration works. Jail & work release may give them the structure they need to straighten out their lives.

    • I have likely lived here longer than you have been on this earth. I love Gainesville and sorely miss what it once was; the safe and affordable ‘city in the country’ with sensible leadership.

  • As if homelessness wasn’t a continuing problem everywhere, Gainesville actually improved it’s downtpwn about 10 years ago when they left the Bo Diddly PLaza and headed to Grace, and as if fools like Jake had any suggestions to solve it. Bullwinkle says throw them in jail? OK, your taxes are going up. Bear says shoot them in the back – ammunition’s too expensive, You voted says elect “conservatives” who will ……… what will they do again?

    Different day, same old “issues”, same old hay seed commentors yelling at the clouds, same old Jake retreads.

    • Jazzy are you actually being serious about Grace being a success? Lol. You gave some wild accusations. Only a democrat would give it to someone in the back. Kinda like when the Democrats wore the hoods to hide themselves when they were lynching people.

      • Bear you idiot, downtown Gainesville 10 years ago featured a regular group living and sleeping in Bo Diddley Plaza and a much larger group downtown. That is no longer the case and the improvement if clear to anyone who goes their regularly, like me. Even a Republican could see it.

    • You got it all wrong. It’s the same old policies, enacted by the same old liberals, that continue to manifest the same old issues.

      If something ain’t working, it’s time to try something else. You can’t fix the car by hiring the same mechanic who cut the brake lines.
