GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Today is the last day of the October sales tax holiday on gas. The sales tax holiday passed by the legislature reduced the gas sales tax by 25.3 cents per gallon during the month of October.
The holiday is one of a number of tax relief measures passed by the legislature, including year-long sales tax holidays on baby clothes and shoes and Energy Star appliances and a two-year sales tax holiday on impact-resistant windows, doors, and garage doors.
Realistically we should only see an increase in the price per gallon of 25 cents. Let’s see how high it goes in Gainesville/Alachua County. Currently at Walmart on NW 13 St. it’s $3.26 for reg unleaded.
Let’s see tomorrow’s prices…
Speaking of taxes… don’t be the idiot that votes to increase taxes on yourselves & friends. Vote “NO” for the extra penny tax for Wild Spaces & Public Places.
Today, 11/1/2022 update. Walmart on NW 13th St. having compassion or didn’t get the memo.
Reg unleaded $3.26 per gal. Yes, there is a line for us frugal consumers.
The Circle K down the street…$3.54. They got the memo.
November 3, 2022…good while it lasted but Walmart on NW 13th finally changed their prices.
$3.51, welcome back! To reality.
