Trenton man on probation arrested for pulling gun during argument
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Dakota Michael George, 24, of Trenton, was arrested yesterday for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly pulling a gun from his waistband while helping a friend who thought his roommate had taken his gaming console.
Jesse Theodore Johnson, 25, was also arrested on a misdemeanor charge of simple battery for allegedly punching his roommate during an argument about a PS5 gaming console that was missing from their apartment. Judge Kristine Van Vorst ordered him released on his own recognizance.
George reportedly went with Johnson to Gainesville Place Apartments (2800 SW 35th Place), where he and Johnson argued with the victim and Johnson allegedly punched the victim in the face. The victim said that while he was standing on the second floor of a building, George started walking toward the building with his hand on his waistband, and as George approached the stairs, he saw him take a black handgun from his waistband. The victim said he ran up the stairs to the third floor to get away from George because he did not know what George would do with the gun.
A witness reportedly told the responding Gainesville Police Department officer that she saw two white men walking up the stairs to the second floor, and one of them had a “buzz” cut and was holding a black handgun (neither of the defendants arrested in this case has a “buzz” cut). The witness said she heard a loud argument with a lot of profanity and went inside to call 911.
George has one felony conviction (non-violent) and two misdemeanor convictions (one violent). He is on probation in Levy County for discharging a firearm in public. Judge Van Vorst ordered him held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s office to hold him without bail until trial.

Your facts are all wrong and dumb
A comment like this should include ‘corrections’ as to the facts as you understand them.
Another dumbass.
On a good note – he’s doing his part to keep the statistical percentages close.
According to the article, George is a convicted felon. He should also be charged with a convicted felon being in possession of a firearm and ammo.
I seriously wish our neighbors didn’t call the cops…
I was giving them their stuff back. I only wanted my money back, and was holding onto it as leverage.
The punch was deserved, and Dakota… well he had a really good opportunity for healing up in Tennessee that I really hope he can accomplish someday.
I’ll probably be dropping all charges. I hope he’ll still be able to make it there. I’m sorry
But also, your mugshot is so priceless mate XD
