Tropical Storm Ian Update #5

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Tropical Storm Ian slowly continues its trek eastward to the Atlantic coast. Our area remains under a Tropical Storm Watch but the flood watch for our area has been canceled. Wind gusts may reach 40 mph today. Less than one inch of rain is expected today.
Refuse Collection: Residential waste collection is suspended today. Trash carts and recycling containers will be picked up tomorrow, Sept. 30, only for residents with regularly scheduled Thursday collections.
Regional Transit System (RTS): No bus service today. Reduced bus service resumes tomorrow. Additional information is available on the GNVrideRTS app (rideRTS.app), on the RTS Facebook page or the RTS website, www.go-rts.com.
City Parks: All parks remain closed today. Only Depot Park will open tomorrow at noon.

Parking Facilities: Free parking for those who need to store their vehicles continues through tomorrow, Sept. 30, based on availability, at the SW Parking Garage, 105 SW 3rd Street.
