Truck driver and four students transported to hospital after truck hits school bus
Staff report
ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – A truck driver and four students were transported to the hospital after a commercial truck hit a school bus this morning in the Campville area.
According to a release from the Florida Highway Patrol, at about 7 a.m. on March 9, an Alachua County school bus was stopped on U.S. Hwy 301 at NE 22nd Lane, picking up students, and a commercial vehicle driven by a 27-year-old Silver Springs man failed to stop and collided with the rear of the stopped school bus.
The driver of the commercial vehicle lost control of the vehicle, and the truck overturned; the driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. A 64-year-old Ocala man who was a passenger in the truck and was also wearing a seatbelt was not injured.
The driver of the school bus, a 73-year-old Gainesville man, was not injured. According to FHP, four students were transported to a hospital with minor injuries: a 10-year-old male, two 14-year-old females, and a 16-year-old female.
FHP is investigating the crash.

Maybe they should paint the bus bright colors and put flashing lights on it…oh wait. Pay attention people.
With a commercial driver involved, I wonder who made it to the 🏥 first: the 🚑 or the chaser.
Hopefully everyone is okay and the only injuries are those requiring a band-aid.
