NEWBERRY, Fla. – As part of FDOT’s State Road 26 (Newberry Road) Resurfacing project, both the eastbound and westbound turn lanes from Newberry Road to NW 170th Street will be closed while contractors install new traffic separators.

Left turns from Newberry Road onto NW 170th Street will not be permitted during this period. Drivers are advised to plan accordingly and utilize alternate routes. Drivers on NW 170th Street will be able to make left turns and right turns onto Newberry Road.

FDOT expects impacts will be minimal and encourages drivers to obey all traffic signs and pavement markings and to drive with additional caution through construction zones.

Closures will begin at 9 p.m. on July 13 and continue through the end of July, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting. Drivers are encouraged to plan accordingly and seek alternate routes. Drivers seeking real-time traffic alerts may visit www.FL511.com or download the FL511 app.

  • I love how the left turn lane was redesigned on Newberry Road and NW 98th near Westside Baptist Church. It is so nice to be able to turn left and actually see oncoming traffic instead of having to turn hoping that a car isn’t coming! Hopefully, other left turn lanes will be redesigned like this.
