Twelve people apply for Judge Walter Green’s seat

Updated on January 18 after the Nominating Commission sent a correction for the county of the vacancy.

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – The Eighth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission has received the following timely submitted applications for the Alachua County Court vacancy due to the resignation of Judge Walter Green:

  • I hope the Chronicle, local BAR, or a NGO, or more, will post bios and pictures of these candidates. We certainly don’t need another Walter Green to be a wrist slapper on violent and gun crimes by criminals.

    If you don’t believe this, just read the AC, Mainstreet Daily News and TV-20 posts on who is being arrested, day after day. Look through the jail bookings and see the mugshots with charges.

      • Just read his bio. Plus I worked with him not for him. A veteran and has worked on both sides. I wouldn’t say anything unless I truly believed in him.
        I know some of the other folks and don’t want to say anything bad. One of them would make Judge Green like a modern Judge Roy Bean.
