Two juveniles arrested following unauthorized block party in Majestic Oaks

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Two juveniles were arrested late Saturday night following an unauthorized block party in Majestic Oaks; one was charged with unlawfully carrying a loaded rifle in a backpack, and the other was arrested on two warrants for violating probation.

During the late evening hours of Saturday, May 9, 2026, Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputies, including members from our FOCUS Unit, were conducting proactive patrol in the 5800 block of SW 20th Avenue after receiving reports of an unauthorized block party within an apartment complex. Deputies also had real-time intelligence that a minor with a firearm was currently on site.

Deputies entered the crowd and located the juvenile, later identified as 17-year-old Jamal Stuckey, based on his clothing matching the description shared with law enforcement. Stuckey was detained, and a search of his person and his backpack was conducted. Inside the backpack was a loaded rifle.

During the investigation, another juvenile who was walking next to Stuckey was discovered to have two active warrants out of ASO for Violation of Parole, including probation for Aggravated Assault and violating their curfew.

Stuckey and the other juvenile were arrested, while the large crowd was dispersed by law enforcement within the apartment complex.

Stuckey was charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Concealed Firearm and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Minor.
