Two life sentences handed down in conviction for lewd or lascivious molestation on a minor
Press release from the Office of State Attorney Brian Kramer
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – On Friday, September 9, Assistant State Attorney Angela Rogers and Assistant State Attorney Deborah Rothenberg led the prosecution team in State vs. Richard Charles Lipscomb.
On January 12, 2020, the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office arrested Richard Lipscomb through their preliminary investigation of sexual battery of a minor child. The Office of State Attorney continued the investigation and formally charged Lipscomb with sexual battery with injury on a person under 12 by a person 18 or older, sexual battery by a person 18 or older on a person 12-18 years old without force likely to cause serious injury, lewd or lascivious molestation on a person 12 years of age or older but under 16 years of age and the offender is 18 or older, and showing obscenity to a minor. An Alachua County Jury found Lispcomb guilty as charged on all counts. The state presented 14 witnesses during the four-day trial. The jury deliberated for approximately 4 hours.
The Honorable Judge David P. Kreider sentenced Lipscomb to 2 life sentences on counts one and three, 30 years consecutive on count two, 15 years on count four, and 5 years on count five, all to be served in the Florida Department of Corrections.
Two life sentences plus 50 years might not last much longer than a few months after other prisoners find out what he’s in for. C’est la vie. Don’t diddle with kiddies.
Yeah this is often said but there are thousands of offenders walking around the state that had no trouble surviving prison. Don’t think prisoners are the moral arbiters some think they are…
I said MIGHT not. I’ve never been to prison, so I don’t know.
He’ll be housed around other sicko child rapists where they can reminisce and compare about the times they’ve had. Can never be cured. Several of these nuts have admitted, if they ever get out, they try for another kid almost immediately, knowing they’d probably be caught.
They are protected now at some places. I was just recently at Lancaster CI where the Chomos run the prison there and are highly protected
And yet, Deontre Mason gets a slap on the wrist.
Good.
