Two Newberry High School students arrested in bomb threats

Sheriff Clovis Watson Jr. and his team would like to share the following important development in the Newberry High School and Oak View Middle School bomb threat investigations after serving search warrants this morning in Newberry.
On September 30, 2021, deputies arrested Newberry High School students Ransel G. Lugo, 17, and Sarah A. McKay, 15. Lugo is charged with three counts of making false bomb threats, three counts of using a two-way communication device to commit a felony, and one count of threatening a mass shooting.
McKay is charged with two counts of making false bomb threats, two counts of using a two-way communication device to commit a felony, and one count of threatening a mass shooting.
The investigation is ongoing and may result in additional charges.
Sucks to be them. Kudos to those who were instrumental in apprehending these kids.
