Two patients transported to local hospital after single-vehicle crash on CR 239

ALACHUA, Fla. – Two patients were transported to a local hospital after being extricated from a vehicle that crashed into the tree line on County Road 239.
At about 3:41 p.m. on May 18, crews from Alachua County Fire Rescue responded to a report of a crash on CR 239 near NW 181st Lane. Crews found a single vehicle in the tree line, with heavy front-end damage.
One patient required extrication, and crews completed the difficult extrication in 25 minutes while providing care to both occupants of the vehicle. Two patients were transported to UF Health Shands.
The incident is being investigated by the Florida Highway Patrol.
