Two teenagers dead in single-vehicle crash in Alachua

BY JENNIFER CABRERA
The Florida Highway Patrol has reported a single-vehicle crash on CR 241, just north of NW 112th Ave. in Alachua, resulting in two fatalities.
According to the report, a pickup truck was traveling south on CR 241 around 11:55 p.m. last night when it traveled off the roadway to the right. The truck then struck a traffic sign and a fence and finally struck a tree. The truck then “became engulfed in fire,” and the driver and passenger were pronounced deceased on the scene by Alachua County Fire Rescue.
FHP no longer identifies victims of accidents, but social media posts indicate that the victims were 19-year-old Christian Frierson of Alachua and 18-year-old Lola Perkins of Gainesville.
FHP no longer identifies accident victims? I wonder why??

Sad for these two young people.
.
Marsy’s Law protects the victims of crimes. Where is the crime here? Destruction of a traffic sign? The driver is deceased and cannot be charged with any crime.
