Two teens detained in connection with multiple attempted burglaries in Palms of Archer

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Isaiah Markee Littlejohn, 19, was arrested yesterday and charged with prowling, two counts of burglary of an unoccupied vehicle, and possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana after a series of burglaries in Palms of Archer. A 17-year-old male is listed as a co-defendant in the case.

A witness told an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy that he saw two males in the area after hearing a car alarm and chased them toward an overflow parking area in the complex, where he confronted them near a vehicle that was later found to be registered to Littlejohn.

While the witness was speaking with Littlejohn’s juvenile companion, Littlejohn reportedly jumped a nearby fence to flee the area on foot.

The witness told deputies he had seen the two male suspects grabbing several door handles on a car, then walking between residences. Deputies made contact with the owner of the car, and he said he wanted to pursue charges for attempted burglary.

While deputies were speaking with that victim, a deputy saw Littlejohn walking by and noted that he matched the description provided by the witness; the deputy asked Littlejohn whether he lived in the area, and he said he lived in northeast Gainesville but was visiting a friend, but he didn’t know the address of the friend. He also reportedly said he didn’t know where his car was parked. After checking Littlejohn’s identification, deputies realized he owned the car that was parked where the witness had made contact with the two suspects.

One victim told a deputy her vehicle had been broken into on January 20 and that she found one of the car doors ajar again on January 21. Littlejohn was charged with attempted burglary of that car.

Post Miranda, Littlejohn reportedly said he was walking in the area to cool off after arguing with his girlfriend, but the deputy noted that neither Littlejohn nor his girlfriend live in the area.

A search of Littlejohn’s car reportedly produced less than 0.1 grams of marijuana, so Littlejohn was charged with marijuana possession. Disposable gloves that were turned inside out (consistent with being removed after use) and a black mask were also reportedly found near Littlejohn’s car.

A 17-year-old male is listed as a co-defendant on the arrest report, but charges for the juvenile are not available.

Bail information is unavailable on weekends.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • Less than 0.1g marijuana..lol. That amounts to maybe a minute shred of a leaf. Those deputies must have had their go go gadget glasses on!

    • It sounds like it’s not really enough to properly test in a lab. Especially if the defense insists on running their own test.

      • Any amount of pot with no medical Marijuana card gives the cop free search of vehicle and occupants, which is what the cop was after, so small amount not really a concern

  • He’s 19, and instead of coming ALL THE WAY to Archer Rd from District 1 to file job applications along the way, he decides to rob cars in a trailer park. Way to go, was he raised in subsidized Gardenia Gardens by chance?

    • He got caught and hopefully learns his lesson after the judicial system rehabilitates him…crime don’t pay…don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time….the police officer may have saved both these youths lives by arresting them.

      • They should be put in that program that Tony Jones is in charge of for troubled teens…Reikert House.

        • Looks like this fellow might be heading to a different house instead…..The Big House.

  • A little rock salt from a double barrel would cure itchy fingers on car doors. Criminals lately always have an excuse for taking property that doesn’t belong to them.
