Two transported to emergency room after accident

HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – Two people were transported to a local emergency room this afternoon after an accident with entrapment in High Springs.

At about 2:53 p.m., crews from Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR) and High Springs Fire Department responded to an accident near the intersection of CR 236 and NW 227th Drive.

According to a release from ACFR, crews found one patient outside the vehicle and one patient trapped inside. Crews began treating both patients for their injuries and used the “Jaws of Life” to remove the trapped patient. The trapped patient was quickly removed, and both patients were transported to a local emergency room.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
