U.S. House passes One Big Beautiful Bill Act

Press release from the Office of Rep. Kat Cammack

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act—a historic package that secures our border, cuts taxes, strengthens rural communities, and delivers real results for Americans. Congresswoman Kat Cammack (FL-03) released the following statement following its passage:

“Florida’s Third District is home to hardworking families, first responders, small businesses, and rural communities—and this bill reflects their priorities.

“It permanently extends the Trump Tax Cuts, preventing the largest tax hike in U.S. history. Without these provisions, more than 452,000 taxpayers in FL-03 would face higher rates, over 81,000 families would see their Child Tax Credit cut in half, and local small businesses and farms would be devastated by rising taxes. This bill stops that.

“It also puts money back in families’ pockets by eliminating federal taxes on tips, overtime, and car loan interest. It protects rural hospitals, cleans up waste in programs like SNAP and Medicaid, and ensures benefits go to those who truly need them—not illegal immigrants or elite institutions gaming the system.

“Most importantly, this bill secures our southern border with the strongest enforcement measures in a generation—deploying new technology, adding more boots on the ground, and reinstating policies that stop the flow of illegal crossings and fentanyl at the source.

“This is what Americans voted for last November. They demanded tax relief, secure borders, and real accountability in Washington, and that’s exactly what this bill delivers. This is what the America First agenda looks like, and I’m proud to support it.”

    • The healthcare industry is very large and wealthy, like the law firms and insurance industries. They should find a way to affordably care for everybody the same way other industries serve customers, with more options. Not forced commie “care”.

      • No one is “forced” to have health care and the civilized places on earth – except the US – provides it to all citizens. Yes, hopsitals do take on those who can’t pay because by law they can’t refuse, but they make it difficult, as stopgap as possible, though within the ethical guidelines and compassion of docs and nurses. and pass on those expenses to others through higher billings.

It’s a bad system and leaves millions of Americans without regular health care and a regular doc and they just avoid treatment as a way to stay out of debt. Even more will be without it – especially in red states – as the Republicans proved AGAIN that they are not the party of working people.

    • Misty, you are correct!

Private equity owned physician staffing groups operate nearly one-third of all emergency departments across the country. There is a growing trend for private equity firms to buy companies and then bankrupt them to enrich their investors. A formula used by private equity involves buying hospitals, loading them up with debt by taking out loans that obligate the hospitals, paying off investors, and then selling the facilities and leasing the real estate back to them, resulting in the closure of hospitals. The people in the community pay the price.

  • Trillions more debt, more tax breaks for those who don’t need it. Wait till those on Medicaid realize they don’t have it anymore.

    • The Medicaid “cuts” are for fraud, corruption, illegal aliens, and single young men who can buy Obamacare instead, if they chose to work.

    • Oh my! Maybe they will get off their a$$ and get an F-ing job like the rest of us suckers?

      • lou, check your nearest construction site and see how many climbing over roofs in Florida in July have health insurance.

        • Oh but they DO have workers comp and the scummy attorneys know how to milk it too. No free lunch….and definitely NO free healthcare.

        • Just curious, are you of the few contractors who pay health insurance for your employees?

          • No, I’m not. If I did – it’s not cheap – I’d price myself out of the market. I pay pretty good, which is how I keep employees long term, but not that good.

I favor decoupling health care from employment, both because it does not cover everyone, but it also reinforces people keeping jobs they might better move on from and this is an arbitray and non-market factor in our economy, as well as putting us at a competitive disadvantage in international markets.

  • Tomorrow after the signing, it will definitely be a new independence day from the longstanding national hegemony of the left, thanks to the BBB, this calls for a super celebration.

    • Yeah, really great that millions of Americans will lose their healthcare, public services like FEMA, National Weather Service and the National Parks service will have their budgets and staff cut, and scientific and medical research will be seriously cut and abandoned to the Chinese so that we don’t have to borrow quite as much money to continue tax cuts to Elon, Jeff, and Mark. (Hey, they went to inauguration, and you and those deadbeats making $20k a year didn’t!)

How many times do we get to watch Republicans deliver tax cuts for their wealthy consituents while promising no new debt because of increased economic activity? How about everytime they get enough power and every time the promise fails. This time they have an indecent and cruel cretin leading them and us backward in history (“Great Again”), pretending down is up and only the King of Bankruptcy, gold watches and over priced perfume (some idiots are buying this crap or he wouldn’t keep doing it) can fix it.

  • $3,000,000,000,000+… that’s a lot of debt for those people who pretend to be concerned with debt.
The Big, Beautiful bill has to be paid by somebody eventually.

It’s past time for people to use some common sense thought instead of believing in their fake savior.

    • The “deficit” is over the next 10 years, and will be easily paid for by MAGA growth nationally and in Red states — unless Dems keep nominating commies in Blue states.

      • Blue states and counties pay the taxes and dominate our GDP. Red states and counties are the takers.

        That’s an undeniable fact.

      • Really? And some would have us believe it’s only the liberals who are gullible.

On the plus side, you’re already making excuses if it’s not paid down. Guess that’s normal, blaming someone else.

    • Since you work in the health care field please find a mental health specialist for your TDS. You do not sound well and are unhinged.

  • Thank you, Kat. We know it’s nearly impossible for something good to come out of DC.
Congress should instead debate and pass Single Subject spending bills. We want to hear our representatives actually defend the individual spending items before voting on them.
Omnibus bills like BBB force our representatives to approve items nobody should be funding. That’s how we got $37 trillion in debt, and why DOGE had to cut USAID among other corrupt kickback schemes.

  • PS Kat hid out on this one until it’s passed, never trying to justify her position while taking questions from those of her constutuents who will lose health care while she of course is covered and even has the Governor on speed dial if any anyone at the hospital needs reassurance they won’t be arrested if they remove her fetus.

    • Friedman’s column with no paywall:

      https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/03/opinion/trump-bill-clean-energy-china.html?unlocked_article_code=1.T08.pilG.iRaUNP2ai2Ud&smid=url-share

“In 2000 China produced just over 1,300 terawatt hours of electricity while the U.S. produced nearly 3,800 (a terawatt is equal to a million megawatts). Fast forward to today, China produces over 10,000 terawatt hours while the U.S., since 2000, has added only 500 — an increase of only 13 percent in two and a half decades. Much of China’s electricity growth originally came from expanded coal-fired generation, but in recent years it has been driven by expanding hydro, solar, wind and battery sources, which are easier, cheaper and quicker to build and also help the climate.

As a recent article from Shanghai in the The Financial Times put it: “China is on its way to becoming the world’s first ‘electrostate,’ with a growing share of its energy coming from electricity and an economy increasingly driven by clean technologies. It offers China a strategic buffer from trade decoupling and rising geopolitical tensions with the U.S.”

As for Trump’s goal of making America globally energy dominant during his term of office, his bill just made that impossible. There is no path to energy dominance in the next five years without renewables….

I am certain there are only two political parties in the world today cheering the passage of this bill: Trump’s Republican Party and the Chinese Communist Party — because nothing is more destined to make China great again than Trump’s “big, beautiful, America surrenders the future of electricity to Beijing” bill.”

    • Simply put, Kat is an abomination.

She is a cowardly, hypocritical, Empty-G-Wannabe.

  • “Can you hear it — that loud roar coming from the East? It’s the sound of 1.4 billion Chinese laughing at us.

The Chinese simply can’t believe their luck: that at the dawn of the electricity-guzzling era of artificial intelligence, the U.S. president and his party have decided to engage in one of the greatest acts of strategic self-harm imaginable. They have passed a giant bill that, among other craziness, deliberately undermines America’s ability to generate electricity through renewables — solar, battery and wind power in particular.

And why? Because they view those as “liberal” energy sources, even though today they are the quickest and cheapest ways to boost our electricity grid to meet the explosion of demand from A.I. data centers.

It is exactly the opposite of what China is doing. Indeed, Beijing may have to make July 4 its own national holiday going forward: American Electricity Dependence Day.

You cannot make this up: Even Saudi Arabia is doubling down on solar power to meet the needs of the A.I. data centers it wants to recruit from the West, while Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” actually does just the opposite….”

    Tom Friedman, today’s NYTs

  • This bill is just as disgusting as the Build Back Better bill a few years ago. Democrats loved Biden’s BBB bill and Reps hated it. Reps love Trump’s BBB bill and Dems hate it.

Both parties are playing on their supporters emotions while marching toward the same goal. The two-party one-party system always wins! How can partisans not see this!?

    • Congress always finds a way to fund the war machine…Americans be damned. Ukraine and Israel are the winners once again.

    • The build back better bill was part of necessary emergency spending caused by Covid but also focused on investments in our infrastructure and future.

      • Yes! We saw the results of the FJB Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Bill each year when we did our taxes!

What did the Socialist AC BOCC do with the money they pocketed from FJB’s scam? Buy more swampland? They certainly did not fix any roads, and when they did come up with a road plan, it was NOT funded by Biden’s scam Bill! They let us line up at Walmart like 3rd World Countries 4 – 5 months longer until our GREAT Governor ordered them to STOP their stupid shi!

We saw the results when the Alachua County Public School System (led by a CERTAIN School Board of Alachua County) went “hog wild” with their spending on special interest, and pet projects, more drop off daycare for those with no interest in learning! By the way, this same SBAC is now leading ACPS into insolvency! Hooray for Certain members!

We saw the GNV Mayor take a trip to DC to learn from the DNC how to request and waste taxpayers money from the FJB Spendorama! We also saw the GNV Mayor and two of his lackeys take a trip overseas on the taxpayers dollar even though they were headed out the proverbial door! Of course, we learned later, that FJB wasn’t even in charge, nor was his word salad master VP! Who was in charge? Oh, the Dems don’t care anymore, that is old news and they are “looking forward!” Liars and communists without a rudder!

What is wrong with tax savings for Middle Class Americans? What is wrong with tax savings for Seniors? You don’t like no tax on the first $25K of tips? Of course you don’t Brother Comrade!

Will some lose Medicare and Medicaid benefits? Yes, those who are not eligible based on actual need and capability to work; of course anyone who is not an American citizen sure as HE%% should not be sucking on Federal funded portions of Medicare and Medicaid! If California wants to fund healthcare for anyone in the US ILLEGALLY, let them pay for it from their state funds.

I guess you don’t like a more secure United States from the criminal invasion Biden allowed the past 4 years. Too bad, the Dems were so bent on these millions of ILLEGALS (if you are in the US without permission, you are here illegally) voting for them the next 50+ years! I guess you would like to see the recent riots in Los Angeles and other Leftist cities, duplicated here in Gainesville? Why don’t you invite them into your home so you can make sure they behave?

Which Cartel members do you want? Which gang? How about some Iranian Sleeper Cell members? No country in the world has an open border, allowing anyone to enter and remain, without vetting them. You should look at what Europe is doing now. They are sending “immigrants” back home! They are tightening up their citizenship criteria.

The USA is the cleanest county in the world when it comes to energy for our homes, businesses, hospitals, etc! Go to any country in SE Asia, China, N. Korea, Russia and check it out!

All in all, since the Dems were chased out of the White House last November by the MAJORITY of Americans, things are looking up! Not all, but things for the MAJORITY of AMERICANS! For those who HaTe AMERICA, I’m sure they would be welcomed in Russia, Iran, China, N. Korea, even Mexico and Canada! Goodbye and Good Riddance!

        • Rudderless, keeping it short – hey, hope you feel better getting that nonsense off your chest – but let’s start with the fact that after his 3rd try, Trump did win the popular vote, but the majority of Americans voted for someonelse – look it up.

Biden’s infrastrure bill was primarily investments in our future, not give aways to the rich, like Trump and the GOP always does. Yes, until you get way down on the income scale, Americans will save on their federal taxes, but it also true that the majority of those cuts – which we will ne borrowing to accomplish – go to the wealthy and very wealthy. Look it up.

That you think the pittance paid out for healthcare for the millions of least well off among us – and over represented in red counties – is worth fighting over, but Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk’s tax breaks aren’t, says it all to me. The rest of the developed world covers all their citizens and does it much cheaper than we do, but hey, you’re right! Bezos and Musk live here!

Illegals can’t vote and they can’t receive Medicaid or SNAP. Yes, Biden waited too long on immigration reform which Trump killed, and he could have tweaked existing law until judges stopped him. like Trump did (he asked for changes to the law in his 1st term). But I’ll take the guy who with his staff got us through Covid better than any other economy in the world and without the recession every world economist predicted in 2020 and 2021. He handed another solid performing economy to orange numb nuts to trash, which he is busy doing, while needlessly p.ssing off the rest of the world and making them think we’re not “the good guys” anymore, we’re the A holes. How’s that help?

The future? Trump’s killing it here by unfunding research – hellooo UF? – chasing away skilled immigrants, ending green energy investments which China is using to beat us at AI, firing weather service personnel – helloo Texas – National Park Service funding, and other federal agencies we’re going to shortly learn were actually doing productive things.

And if Trump isn’t a Russian asset, how would we know the difference? That’s a real question.

        • No, explain it Slice. I’m all ears.

Of course an explanation from the person who thinks the packed ICUs (I personally know docs who worked them and the waiting room full of MAGA relatives on death watch) and extra 1.2 million deaths in 2020-2021 would be as worthless as a Trump U degree.

          • Yes, people died from medical malpractice, in the hospitals and “care” homes. People with normal respiratory symptoms put into induced comas and certain death on ventilators, blanket DNR notices across abnormally wide ranges demographics, starvation, dehydration and prescription of end of life benzo drugs for the elderly, etc. These have all been well documented over the dark days of the covid period. Still no isolated virus or unique quantifiable disease documented though.
