UF Health welcomes first baby of 2024

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — UF Health welcomed its first baby of the year early this morning.

Martinezz was fashionably late to watch the ball drop. He was born at 1:44 a.m. at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital. Martinezz weighs 6 pounds, 13 ounces and measures 20 inches long. His mother, Maria, and father, Martinezz Sr., are thrilled to welcome their first child.

Baby Martinezz and his mother are healthy and resting comfortably at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital.
