Staff report

LACROSSE, Fla. – An unattended fire yesterday destroyed a recreational vehicle and a tractor, along with about an acre of woods.

At about 6:51 p.m. on March 29, crews from Alachua County Fire Rescue and the Lacrosse Fire Department responded to a fire off of State Road 121 near NW 290th Avenue. A fire that was left unattended spread to burn down a tractor and a recreational vehicle, along with almost an acre of woods.

  • Reality check: conditions now are extremely dry. With the ongoing burn ban there should have been no fire, unattended or not…That thing could easily have gotten away, been hard to stop
