GAINESVILLE, Fla. – United Way of North Central Florida (UWNCFL) announces the departure of its Director of Community Impact, Rahkiah Brown, a cherished team member who has played an integral role in advancing the organization’s mission of positively impacting the health, education, and financial stability of people living in north central Florida. Brown is set to embark on a new journey as the Chief Executive Officer of the South City Foundation, effective October 9, 2023.Â
Brown, who has been with UWNCFL for eight years, has been a driving force behind its community impact initiatives. Her dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to the mission have left an indelible mark on the organization and the communities it serves. During her tenure, Brown has held various roles, including ReadingPals Coordinator, each marked by outstanding leadership and a tireless dedication to the people of north central Florida.Â

The South City Foundation is a nonprofit neighborhood revitalization organization located in Tallahassee. Their work focuses on establishing mixed-income housing opportunities, a cradle-to-career education pipeline, and robust community health and wellness programs. UWNCFL will soon begin the process of identifying a suitable successor to continue the organization’s mission and build upon the foundation laid by Brown.
