Unofficial results: Johnson, Duncan-Walker win Gainesville City Commission seats

BY JENNIFER CABRERA

With all precincts reporting, the Supervisor of Elections website is showing that in a very-low-turnout election (10.64% overall), Gail Johnson and Desmon Duncan-Walker have won their races for Gainesville City Commission.

In the At Large B race, the incumbent Johnson won 8,432 votes, and Gabriel Hillel won 1,117.

In the District 1 race, challenger Duncan-Walker won 1,244 votes, and incumbent Gigi Simmons won 1,125.

  • Bye, bye! Good riddance! One for two isn’t bad. Hopefully Duncan-Walker won’t throw the residents of east Gainesville under the bus while kowtowing to King Poe and the rest of the jesters. We are starting to see that within other local governmental elements at an alarming rate…hint, hint.

Most baseball players would be happy to be batting .500, now if voters can get rid of the other liberal knuckleheads, it may reestablish a little more confidence in community direction.

On second thought, that’ll never happen.
