ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – Unused or unwanted medications can be dropped off in two locations in Alachua County – Gainesville and Hawthorne – at the DEA Drug Take Back Day events on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Safely disposing of unused medication (including pet medicine) helps keep it out of the reach of children, protect the water supply, and prevent prescription drug misuse in the community.

Allowed medications include any over-the-counter or prescription medications, vape cartridges (i.e., pods), vape liquids, and vaping devices without the battery. Sharps, needles, and aerosolized drugs (i.e., inhalers) will not be collected during this event.
