Vote for your favorite High Springs story

Press release from The Heart of High Springs

For more than a year, volunteers of The Heart of High Springs, Inc., have been collecting stories about the people, places, and things that are part of the history of High Springs. In March, the organization presented an exhibit of 20 different concepts and recently added three more subjects that have been included in the display of the update posters created with an ultimate goal of using art to preserve this history.

The organization now seeks community input by voting for their favorite concepts. Until July 3rd, these concepts are available for viewing and voting at the High Springs Library Branch located at 23779 W US Hwy 27 and Lanza Gallery & Art Supplies, 23645 W US Hwy 27, High Springs. Voting can be accessed through the website https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/walldogshighsprings or a QR code. Paper ballots are available at Lanza Gallery only.

  • There were no choices for posting Veteran images of those that served from this community. It all seems to support tourists rather than important I individuals that helped make us able to do this.

  • Veteran’s were on the original larger list of topics, but the small group of volunteers who gathered the history had a difficult time finding any history to use. The Military Vets group could give us current history, but many of them were not from High Springs originally. The marker next to city hall is the sum of the history we could find. The Military Vets sponsor the wreath program and they do not place those wreaths on the graves of veterans in the High Springs Cemetery. If you have history on local veterans please reach out to us and we would be happy to consider it as a topic.

  • The best story is to expose the unethical, the immorial, legalized corruption of The Heart of High Springs Inc how they sneakily destroyed a historical wall in high springs supporting a wall Dawg and stained the old wall by Painting a stupid image of a florescent snorkel face on 100% of the wall, boycott High Springs, buy everything from out of town or online, free shipping,, save money. High Springs is a town of noise of trash and lost its charm.
