Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Highs will be in the low 90s over the weekend, with light rain possible on both days. The National Hurricane Center has designated an Atlantic system as Tropical Depression Two, but only two of the models predict that it will threaten our area; the storm is more likely to head west into the Gulf of Mexico. A second system is right behind it in the Atlantic, and a third system is possible in the southern Gulf over the next seven days.
