GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Melissa Lynn Armer, 37, was arrested early this morning and charged with simple battery and criminal mischief under $1,000 after a man said she attacked him in the parking lot of an Archer Road gas station.
Gainesville Police Department responded to a call from 3960 SW Archer Road at 1:00 a.m.; the victim reportedly told the responding officer that Armer asked him for money, and he told her he would not give her money. He said she grabbed the open door of his car and slammed it on his foot and arm; the victim added that she then broke the antenna off the car and started banging on the windshield, eventually cracking the windshield. The victim reportedly said he got out of the car, and she slapped him on the head.
The officer noted that the victim’s injuries were consistent with his account.
Post Miranda, Armer reportedly admitted slapping the victim and closing the door on him multiple times; she admitted that she banged on the windshield but denied breaking the antenna. Armer was charged with simple battery and criminal mischief and is being held on $7,000 bail.
