GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Dejonai V’shonda Dismukes, 27, was arrested yesterday afternoon after allegedly chasing down and ramming a car with six occupants, two adults and four juveniles.
Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a physical fight in Majestic Oaks at about 1:30 p.m. yesterday. A deputy was told that after the fight, some participants got into a vehicle and drove away. Dismukes allegedly got into her vehicle and chased the victims down, intentionally driving the passenger side of her car into the driver’s side of the victims’ vehicle and causing significant damage to both vehicles. The victims’ vehicle was occupied by two adult women and four juveniles.
Post Miranda, Dismukes reportedly said that she regretted chasing down the other vehicle. She also reportedly said that after striking the side of the victims’ vehicle, she turned in front of the other vehicle in an attempt to cut it off, and the victim rear-ended her. She said she did not know there were juveniles in the car.
Dismukes has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and has been released from the jail.
