Woman arrested for child abuse, simple battery, and battery on a law enforcement officer

Janee Tatiana Hooker, 23, was arrested last night and charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, domestic battery, and child abuse without great bodily harm.
At about 11:30 p.m., a Gainesville Police Department (GPD) officer responded to a call regarding a physical altercation in a vehicle at Forest & Village Apartments, 3101 NE 15th Street. A security guard reported that a woman, later identified as Hooker, was in the back seat of the vehicle with a child and was reaching over the seat to hit the man in the driver’s seat. The guard said that Hooker then got out of the vehicle and slammed the door shut, striking the child in the face with the door. The guard said that Hooker then went into her apartment.
Another witness said Hooker and the man had been engaged in a physical altercation outside the vehicle and that Hooker had “tossed” the child onto the hood of the vehicle while fighting with the man.
When a GPD officer arrived and tried to make contact with Hooker for the purpose of checking on the child, Hooker allegedly slammed a window on the officer’s hand. The officer sustained minor injuries. The child had injuries consistent with a door striking her in the face. The third victim was uncooperative with law enforcement.
Hooker is being held on $30,000 bond.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Textbook case on why America needs single occupant deed restricted housing, owner occupied with security barriers, so these miscreants cannot blame anyone else for spawning more tax drainers on society. One is enough.
A jail cell would do nicely…
