Woman arrested for cutting man with scissors

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Frandreka Deltrice Woods, 32, was arrested yesterday after allegedly cutting a man with scissors.

At about 11:06 a.m. on February 13, a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to a home in the 700 block of NE 12th Street, where Woods and the victim were helping a friend clean out a house. Woods became upset with the victim and allegedly tried to hit him with a stick, but the victim pushed her away.

Woods allegedly went to her vehicle, came back with a pair of pink scissors, and attacked the victim, cutting his hand.

Post Miranda, Woods reportedly said she had argued with the victim and had tried to get away, but the victim stopped her temporarily. She said she went to her vehicle to get away from the victim, and he reached into her car, so she slammed the car door on his hand.

A witness, however, reportedly said that she saw the victim pushing Woods away while they were arguing, and then Woods went to her vehicle, grabbed something blue, and went back inside the house. She said Woods went out to her vehicle a second time, grabbed something else, and went after the victim “in a threatening manner.”

Woods has been charged with domestic aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. She has three felony convictions (non-violent) and nine misdemeanor convictions (one violent). She was arrested in November 2025 for attacking the same victim, and on December 9, Judge James Colaw granted a motion from the State Attorney’s office to hold her without bail until trial, but the charges were dropped on December 17. Judge Tatum Davis set bail at $100,000 on the new charge.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
