Woman arrested for shooting at former boyfriend
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Amber Renee Allen, 24, was arrested yesterday and charged with battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly hitting and shooting at her former boyfriend.
An Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the 7100 block of SW 44th Place at about 8:34 p.m. on April 17 and reportedly found the victim shirtless and disoriented. The victim reportedly told the deputy that Allen had dropped off her child to spend time with him at about 7 p.m., and when she returned at 7:40 p.m., they got into an argument. The victim said that Allen left but returned at about 8:15 p.m. with another woman and that when Allen got out of her car, she pulled his shirt over his head and allegedly hit him several times on both sides of his head.
The victim told the deputy that after his shirt was removed, he ran away to avoid further confrontation with Allen, but as he ran, he heard a gunshot that missed him. He said after Allen shot at him, she got back into her car and left the area. The victim had injuries consistent with being hit on the head.
Two witnesses corroborated the victim’s story that Allen had removed his shirt and had hit him. The witnesses also said that they saw Allen take a pistol out of the car, rack the slide, and fire at the victim as he ran away. The deputy was reportedly able to view videos of the incident in which people could be heard yelling that Allen had a firearm, followed by a gunshot.
Allen has no criminal history, but a sworn complaint was filed against her in 2020, alleging that she had intentionally hit another woman with her car and had threatened to kill her. Those charges were later dropped.
Judge Thomas Jaworski set bail at $175,000.

Hopefully this time she won’t get away with it like any other time she’s “shot” someone .
