Woman arrested for threatening to shoot her boyfriend

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Julianete Rodriguez, 19, was arrested yesterday for allegedly threatening to shoot her boyfriend.

During the evening of June 19, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a residence in Hawthorne regarding an incident that had occurred at The Polos (2330 SW Williston Road).

The deputy reported that Rodriguez, the victim, and a juvenile witness left The Polos in the victim’s vehicle, with the victim in the driver’s seat, Rodriguez in the front passenger seat, and the witness in the back seat; an unknown female was also reportedly in the back seat.

Shortly after leaving the apartment complex, Rodriguez and the victim got into an argument, and the witness reportedly saw Rodriguez grab a firearm, “cock it back,” and aim it at the victim while yelling that she would shoot him. She reportedly told the victim to take the unknown female back to The Polos, and he did.

Rodriguez allegedly started saying she was going to shoot the unknown female in the face and kept the gun between her legs during the drive to Hawthorne. When they arrived in Hawthorne, a family member of the witness called law enforcement to report the incident.

The deputy noted that the vehicle was parked directly next to an open window, and it was believed that the gun was tossed through the window before deputies arrived.

Post Miranda, Rodriguez reportedly denied having a gun but said she’d had her hands between her legs during the drive. She said she had taken a brush from her backpack, which made a metal sound as she removed it. She said a female had threatened her with a gun at some point during the incident, but she did not provide additional details.

The victim reportedly denied that anything had happened and refused to cooperate with deputies.

A search of the vehicle did not produce any guns, but two empty magazines were reportedly found.

Rodriguez, whose address is listed as Interlachen, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She has no local criminal convictions, but she was arrested in February 2026 for allegedly pushing and scratching the same victim, along with resisting an officer without violence; that case can no longer be found on the court website. Judge Meshon Rawls ordered him released on his own recognizance.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • “The victim reportedly denied that anything had happened and refused to cooperate with deputies.” Sounds like he’s still hoping to get some future benes from the perp. Sounds like this case will get dropped forthwith.

  • Someone tell these Gen Z yokels they shouldn’t go to live in college towns. Unless they want to flip burgers between prison terms.
