Woman arrested for throwing wrench at father of her children

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Onawa Satori Moore, 42, was arrested yesterday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly throwing a wrench at the father of her children in an attempt to injure or kill him.

At about 1:40 p.m., an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a call about a domestic battery and determined that Moore had tracked the victim to a home where she believed he was seeing another woman.

Moore and the victim argued, then the victim began to walk away from her with his back turned. Onawa allegedly threw an adjustable wrench at him, but it hit the hood of a car, leaving several large dents. A witness reportedly told the deputy that he heard Onawa say, “I hate you” and “I will kill you.”

Post Miranda, Moore reportedly admitted that she threw the wrench with the intention of hitting the victim because she was upset that he walked away from her.

Moore has 10 misdemeanor convictions, mostly traffic offenses. Bail information is unavailable on weekends.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • Such a lack of impulse control in this ‘culture’ of violence. Avoid at all costs.

  • It’s a shame one can have a trashy fight, not hit your target and still get arrested. I have a security video of my ex son in law threatening to kill my daughter in specific detail and ASO did nothing. What is up with that?

    • Lawyers make our laws. They will never change laws if their livelihoods will diminish when crimes are solved too early. That’s why juries must take over the judicial branch ASAP.

  • Can you blame him for wanting to see someone else? Just think of what she could have thrown at him from home; knives, dishes, even the kitchen sink would have been up for grabs.

Where were her children while she was throwing a tantrum?

Obviously he didn’t want her but puzzling whether it was her husband or just the father of her children. Equally obvious, even with that wrench, one can’t fix stupid.

  • This is why couples should marry, before having kids. It’ll give them alimony and child support rights when they want to separate later.

    • We created tax credits for every child. This all started back at the beginning of the civil rights movement. Unfortunately it’s been abused by having “throw away” children. And it’s getting worse every year.
