Woman charged with threatening to shoot another woman during argument
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Melissa Marie Ann Theus, 33, was arrested yesterday and charged with threatening to shoot a woman she had been arguing with.
At about 3:30 p.m. on April 19, Theus was reportedly arguing with the victim outside a residence accessed from Waldo Road and NE 73rd Avenue; the victim reportedly said she would call the police if Theus hit her, and Theus allegedly walked out of the front gate to her car, removed a handgun from the car, pointed it at the victim, and said she would shoot her, then put the gun in her waistband.
Two witnesses reportedly corroborated the victim’s story, and all three were able to describe the gun and its holster. The victim told the responding Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy that she believed Theus would shoot her and wasn’t sure why she decided not to.
When the victim called 911, Theus reportedly left the area but was arrested when she returned to the house to pick up her belongings.
Theus has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She has no criminal convictions, and Judge William Davis ordered her released on her own recognizance.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Yalls build the chuckle cheese chestnut football extravaganza and this crap don’t happen. Give us back GRU to the peeps. We need our money back to spend on the perps.
Charge someone with a violent felony (a gun crime no less) and then just let them out of jail? Really? And our dumb Democrat politicians and bureaucrats wonder why they have a “gun problem” here?
It’s not a gun problem. It’s a people problem. No one knows how to have a disagreement and settle it without acting like rabid dogs.
