Woman cuts boyfriend with sword

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Sie’errah M Witcher, 22, was arrested Friday night and charged with aggravated domestic battery and making a false statement to law enforcement after allegedly cutting her boyfriend with a sword.

Witcher allegedly attacked the victim with a sword that has a 30-inch blade, resulting in an 8-inch wound on his hand. The officer reported that a tourniquet was required to control the bleeding.

A Gainesville Police Department Officer made contact with Witcher at the Gate gas station at 506 NW 13th Street, and Witcher reportedly said that she and the victim had gotten into an argument and she had screamed, “Rape!” multiple times. She reportedly said that the victim bit her hand to get her to stop, and in self-defense, she produced the sword and swung it at him. He tried to block the sword with his hand and was cut. Witcher reportedly said it was her fault because she shouldn’t have accused him of rape “when it never happened.”

A witness who lives in a neighboring apartment reportedly told an officer that he was awakened by screaming from Witcher’s apartment. He said he heard Witcher screaming, “You raped me,” and then heard her running around the apartment.

Post-Miranda at an emergency room, the victim reportedly denied touching the victim but said she drew the sword because he had been verbally aggressive.

While one officer was talking to the victim, Witcher reportedly called 911 to say she had lied; an officer contacted her, and she reportedly voluntarily stated that she bit herself and swung a sword at the victim; she added that the victim never touched her.

Witcher has no criminal history; bail information is unavailable on weekends.
