Woman on pre-trial release arrested for stealing food from hotel

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Yolanda Bohdana Baruch, 45, was arrested yesterday morning after allegedly stealing microwave dinners from the refrigerator at the Holiday Inn Express off Archer Road and throwing hot coffee on an employee who tried to stop her.
At about 7:47 a.m. yesterday, Baruch allegedly took several microwave dinners from the refrigerator at the hotel and walked out without paying. A hotel employee tried to stop her, and Baruch allegedly threw hot coffee on the employee before fleeing.
The hotel employee told the responding Gainesville Police Department officer that Baruch often comes into the hotel, and the employee lets her have free food from the breakfast buffet, but Baruch did not have permission to take the microwave dinners.
Post Miranda, Baruch reportedly said she took the items because she did not have money and was hungry. She said she took the dinners instead of the free breakfast because she did not want the free breakfast. She reportedly admitted throwing coffee on the employee and said she did that because the employee was hitting her.
Baruch, who is described as homeless in court documents, was arrested on December 15, 2023, and charged with grand theft of a vehicle. She was released on her own recognizance with the requirement that she not violate any laws.
Baruch has been charged with battery, theft, and resisting the recovery of stolen property. Judge George Wright ordered her held without bail.

So humanity is just DEAD? This woman was hunger I think it speaks volume and the need to help those who are in need! Dayum… What happened to caring for one another!
The Bible says sometimes we are entertaining angels when we serve the needy. But I once heard a preacher say that if you can’t tell the difference between an angel and a bum then you have some serious problems with discernment.
She is on probation for auto theft and told not to violate any state laws. She does and she back in jail. She was getting free food from the motel and she was not satisfied with that. Here’s an idea send her to Harvey’s trough maybe he will move enough to give her a bite. This is the problem with the criminal homeless. They take a good thing and up the ante every time.
I know this woman from high school, there is definitely some mental illness going on, she didn’t used to be like this. She had such a promising future. It’s so sad.
So, offering her a hot breakfast buffet that she refused is inhumane? Maybe you should bring her home to live with you.

The employee said she could have a free breakfast but didn’t want it so instead stole stuff that wasn’t hers. Give people an inch they take a foot.

You make no sense ever heard of the Dis-Grace Market Center. She could reside there with her fellow Bums. Food there probably not up to her standards. I wish I could stop by and get a Free Buffet for breakfast. I have to cut back on food for family because of high prices. She’ll be back in that area after her release, maybe you could set the example and treat a Bum to breakfast, lunch and dinner at your home. By the way plenty of jobs available.
Nuts were turned out of the funny farm in the 60s. Then we paid THEM to get knocked up and have kids . They hit a university town to work on the feelings of the young, who give the bums money that is not taxed. We are forced to pay for their housing in motels and let them eat at grace market place so they can do drugs at “CAMP DIGNITY”(WHAT A FREAKING JOKE!)

What a screwed up individual. Biting the hand that feeds you. They were nice enough to feed her from the buffet but that wasn’t good enough. Now she gonna have to steal food somewhere else. At least she has no bond. That’s a surprise.

It will never be enough for these people. If you give them an inch they will ask for a foot. Give em a foot they will ask for a yard and so on. As my Dad used to tell me, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. But teach a man to fish and you can feed him for a lifetime.”

So, to the naked eye, it looks just like that. It’s a mess out by the sidewalk.
But like a lot of things in a “natural urban environment” looks can be very deceiving.
In fact, It’s not a mess at all. It’s actually a rats nest. The sad part is, not even the scientist just up the street at UF have a use for this particular breed of rat. They hold no medical testing value, because these rats have become immune to “The laws inherent to one’s natural environment”. One could of course conclude that these rats are a sort of “Super Rat”, and those folks would be correct in their own right.
It’s much like the Pythons that showed up in the Everglades, albeit this species can survive in the habitat surrounding them, it’s not their natural habitat. This particular breed of rat has been classified by scientist studying marsupials. In science we call them, “Marsupias, Homogeneous”,
or more commonly pronounced
“The Hood Rat”.
A hood rat has made a nest on the sidewalk there at McDonald’s. Their super power comes in at night. Studies have shown these creatures to not only be active in the daylight, but they are also very nocturnal.
Studies have also shown that sometimes, after they have canvassed the same food source, they just freak out and bite.
Not even local breeds of night hunting fowl such as barn owls will try to take one down for a quick meal.
Like the Honey Badger, scientist believe the hood rats excrete a certain urinary smell that repels would be hunters and other threats.
It is this smell that has shown why scientific facilities around our community don’t even want to study the Hood Rats.
Unfortunately, there’s is not yet a known solution for the Hood Rat infestation or community must endure.
Much like stray cats, the hood rats are multiplying at an astonishing rate. These hood rats have also become completely immune to rat traps and rat poison around our businesses and homes. They simply sniff and eat them. Scientist believe this may possibly be an addictive behavior, but further investigation must be conducted to confirm their theories.
In conclusion,
if you ever encounter a hood rat, be very cautious. They have been known to just run out into heavy traffic and ask for money. Some hood rats have even been known to try to hit people in their cars through an open window.
However, most hood rats stay to themselves just scavenging for food.
But, every now and then, a hood rat just freaks out. Please be cautious when you encounter a hood rat.

Looks like she was only in Alachua county for three days when she got her first offense (felony) Arrest form states she was born in West Palm Beach. I conclude the word is out, it is easier to grift in Alachua county rather than Palm Beach.
She definitely grew up here, we went to elementary, middle and high school together.
The buffet food was offered – it was a gift. The microwave dinners were not offered – she stole those.
An economy just won’t work if theft goes unpunished. Allowing theft, even of food, is unkind & destructive not only for the owner of the property, but also for the rest of the people who live and work in the area. Thieves ruin businesses, the businesses close, and basic access to food, other necessities and employment opportunities disappears. It’s a terrible spiral.
This woman epitomizes so much of what’s wrong with society right now. No gratitude – just demands more and more, and will take what she wants, when she wants it, even if that means assaulting someone in the process. Violent, selfish, greedy, ungrateful.
I hope the employee who was attacked with the hot coffee is okay. No one should have to put up with this sort of behavior at work. Honest, hardworking employees are having to deal with so much these days, just to earn the money to buy their own food.
Someone tell her to go to Ocala, she has more opportunities down there. And to wash her hands before eating next time.
Throw the book at her. Make her pick up trash on the side of the road. She expects a free lunch (or breakfast) instead of getting a job.
Her ‘free’ breakfast was paid for by paying customers at the hotel. I wonder if management knows their employee is giving away ‘free’ breakfasts to nonpaying restaurant connoisseurs’. If they didn’t know, they do now.
I don’t think the guests would feel too happy knowing hotel staff lets homeless people massage the scrambled eggs with their filthy hands and handle all the muffins etc. as they pick through for their favorites.
I would worry more about endangering the hotel guests by inviting her in. And the other employees, too.

Forget Gainesville having another gun control symposium get together with free food at the Hilton. This is the second article in recent days with a new common theme that needs its own symposium. There is a definite link between crime, the homeless, and hotel buffet waffles. We need new laws on waffle control to reduce crime. Get on it Gainesville.
Gun control laws are a joke it only makes it harder for the law abiding citizen to purchase a gun more gun laws means that law abiding ppl are going to listen and law breaking criminals are not going to listen at all what’s the point what 🤡’s sit around all day and say oh what can we do to make it more for a law-abiding citizen to see if we can make them break the law and make them in to criminals because of all the b.s laws thinking oh let’s make this law up and see if law breaking criminals will break them better yet let’s just get some abiding citizens in there too to break the law and turn them into criminals just like this stupid ass paper straws saving the turtles our trash in alachua county does not go to the ocean it goes to a landfill
