MICANOPY, Fla. – Whitney Nicole Davis, 35, of Gainesville, was arrested yesterday after allegedly taking her teenage child with her when she entered a home, threatened an occupant with a knife, and then fled, leaving the child behind.
At about 12:57 a.m. on April 11, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a report that a firearm had been brandished at a home on Palmetto Drive. The deputy reported that the male victim had been living at Davis’s residence, but he and Davis got into an argument, so he went to a residence he owns in Micanopy; the female victim had been staying at the male victim’s residence for about two weeks, with the male victim’s permission.
Shortly after the male victim arrived at the Micanopy residence, Davis reportedly arrived with a teenage child; she allegedly left the juvenile in the car, entered the residence uninvited, and started arguing with the male victim about the female victim’s presence in the residence. During the argument, Davis allegedly picked up a kitchen knife and threatened to cut the male victim.
The female victim retreated to a bedroom, and Davis allegedly entered the bedroom uninvited; the female victim reportedly armed herself with a handgun to defend herself, in fear that Davis still had the knife.
Davis allegedly fled the residence on foot, leaving the juvenile behind.
Later that morning, deputies went to Davis’s residence, where the teenage child from the earlier incident and other juveniles reportedly said Davis was not there. However, deputies behind the residence reported that Davis was apprehended as she was trying to leave the residence through the back door.
Post Miranda, Davis reportedly said she and the male victim had argued, the male victim had gone to the Micanopy residence, and she had followed in her vehicle with her juvenile child. She denied having a knife, but she said the female victim pulled a gun on her.
Davis has been charged with armed burglary of a dwelling, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. On March 26, she entered a plea of nolo contendere to two charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor by failing to require school attendance after her two elementary-aged children missed 49 and 52 days of school, respectively, in the 2023-24 school year; she was sentenced to two concurrent sentences of six months of probation.
Judge David Kreider ordered her held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s Office to hold her without bail until trial. On April 20, Judge Robert Groeb granted the motion and ordered her held without bail until trial.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, I nominate her for Mother of the Year.
Enter my home with a knife. Te he te he.
Are those real braids? She must have lotsa time on her hands. How come we never see Asian and Indians with braids?
The male victim must have really ticked her off. Female victim did the right thing defending herself. She should be DRT. She doesn’t seem to care to much about her kids anyway.
