Woman on probation arrested for stabbing man with broken broomstick
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Chenetrice Shatoya Simpson, 27, was arrested last night and charged with aggravated battery after allegedly stabbing a man in the face with a broken broomstick.
At about 11:34 p.m. on January 19, a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to Frederick Gardens Apartments (1130 SW 16th Avenue) and reportedly found the victim standing outside with a laceration on the right side of his face. Simpson reportedly came out of the apartment and was detained.
The victim said he had been lying facedown in bed, with his head turned to the right, when Simpson came home from work and was intoxicated. He said they argued, and she lunged at him with the broken broom handle and cut his face, at which point he immediately went outside and called 911. The victim showed the officer the broken broom handle inside the apartment.
The officer reported that there were blood stains on the mattress where the victim had been lying, but he could not tell whether they were fresh; he also reported that there were blood drops on the wall in the hallway.
Post Miranda, Simpson reportedly said she and the victim had argued, and then the victim pulled her off the bed, stomped on her neck, and hit her in the eye with the broomstick, but the officer noted that he didn’t see any visible injuries that matched Simpson’s account of the incident. When the officer asked how the victim had sustained the injury to his face, Simpson reportedly said she “honestly” didn’t know. She said that when the victim left the apartment, he said she was going to jail.
The officer noted that the victim’s laceration was close to his neck, temple, and eye, so Simpson’s actions “could have caused grievous bodily harm” to the victim.
Simpson and the victim were both transported to emergency rooms for treatment, and Simpson was booked into the jail in the evening on January 20.
Simpson has been charged with aggravated domestic battery with a deadly weapon. She has five misdemeanor convictions (one violent) and is on probation for a previous domestic battery incident. Judge Adam Lee set bail at $75,000.

She’s a holy terror. Judge….revoke her probation and keep her away from the rest of us.
The devil’s brew makes her crazy as a bedbugs. Not built for LTR.
