GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After Alachua County School Board (SBAC) Vice Chair Tina Certain posted a comment on Facebook calling Charlie Kirk an “uneducated white boy,” Congresswoman Kat Cammack called on her to resign immediately.

Certain responded to a public post on someone else’s profile about Charlie Kirk’s memorial service, saying that she didn’t watch it: “I didn’t watch any of that Drump rally! I went to see an elder bcs the weight of it all – how a 31yr old uneducated white boy has been glorified. He has a organization bcs a millionaire gave him money & connections to start it. To see the feds & state elevate him angers me. It is heavy but I know I can’t stay home. Gotta fight despite being tired of it all.”

Although SBAC Board Attorney David Delaney recommended on August 13 that board members include a disclaimer on their personal social media accounts indicating that “the views expressed here are strictly my own,” that disclaimer does not appear on Certain’s personal Facebook account.

Cammack wrote, “Instead of prioritizing our children, the Alachua County School Board members seem to be teaching a master class in hate. I wonder what the parents of the ‘white boys’ you are supposed to represent think of your deplorable comments — comments, I should add, that you made about the memorial service of a murdered husband and father, which you called a ‘Drump rally.’ Tina, you have failed our children, you are promoting division & hate, and for that you should resign immediately.”

The controversial post appeared just two months after SBAC Chair Sarah Rockwell made national news for posting “One less MAGA in the world” on Facebook after the death of Hulk Hogan.

  • If every politician stepped down when another asked for him or her to and did – there’d be no more clowns in the circus.

I do appreciate the effort though. In my opinion, after offering many condolences and reflecting on his conversations with Mr. Kirk, the loss of his many interactions across this country with youth from many college campuses, the President did make an attempt to turn Mr. Kirk’s service into a politically themed event. There was no need to bring his vitriol towards the opposite party into the conversation but he did. As much as Trump lives in many people’s heads, it’s a safe conclusion that Biden lives just as rent free in his. Maybe Joe is better off losing his wits, at least he’ll be able to forget about Trump, not so sure Trump will ever be able to forget about Biden.

    • Unfortunately divide and conquer is the name of the game. That’s why the ruling class never lets a good crisis go to waste.

  • Its unfortunate that Tina is to ignorant to realize that it is her and those in her circle that are the haters and spreaders of hate. It is also unfortunate that voters in this county don’t seem to care as long as she has a “D” as her political affiliation.

    • She’s ignorant in more ways than that.
In fact, she’s too ignorant to recognize she is ignorant.

She’s supposed to be an accountant too. 🤣🤣🤣

  • What a racist piece of dog sh!t. In what world is it okay for a school board member to figuratively spit on white boys or any other race? I’m sure all the white boys who attend govt schools here feel well represented now….

  • Hypocrisy of Ms Cammack knows little bonds. Literally taking food from children while hurting farmers and now this attack on speech. Our MIA congresswoman is not worthy of our support.
Mr. Kirk’s comments on race clearly indicates a lack of education did he attend the Rush Limbaugh school of bullying hate? Appears so to many of us.

“President Donald Trump’s tax cut and spending bill passed in July
included signicant cuts to the nation’s largest food aid program,
the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, including
expanded work requirements for recipients and state cost-sharing
requirements that state governments will likely struggle to a^ord.
Without the hunger report, it will be more diVcult to determine
whether those cuts cause food insecurity rates to rise, said Eric
Mitchell, president of the Alliance to End Hunger.
“There’s no way to determine what that impact will look like if the
government isn’t tracking the data,” Mitchell said.
The lack of data will also make it harder to ensure the eVcacy of
existing federal programs, including the Special Supplemental
Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children, said Georgia
Machell, president and CEO of the National WIC Association.”

    • Putting aside the likelihood that Certain was reacting to the many racist comments and positions of Kirk targeting black people and the fact of the cuts and other harm to Floridians he supported and you point out that Cammack knee jerk votes yes for, Certain must have been drunk or is ready to leave office sooner or later. “Ill-advised” is the best spin to put on her comment which was beneath an elected officer of her stature.

      • Can you give examples of these racist comments targeting blacks? Also, punctuation is your friend, don’t be afraid of it.

      • Jazzman – Please give an example of Charlie Kirk’s “many racist comments and positions of Kirk targeting black people”. Please – I beg you to try to find something, other than vitriol from CNN or MSNBC.

        • 1. Kirk attacked SC justice Brown – along with several other black women – saying she did not have “the brain processing power to be taken seriously” and “needed to take opportunities from someone more deserving”. Brown won the national oratory title at the National Catholic Forensic League championships in New Orleans her senior year in HS, was elected class president and was the debate team captain, she graduared magma cum laude from Harvard and Cum Laude from it’s law school where she was a law review editor (rich kid Kirk dropped out of community college).

          2. Kirk claimed the CR Act of 1964 was a mistake and was primarily anti-white. I was in Gainesville before that law passed and blacks could not eat at restaurants, stay in hotels, or otherwise have full citizenship rights.

          3. Kirk said he’d be afraid if a pilot on his airplane was black, as if all blacks hired were preferential while whites hired were not preferentially treated – say what?

          4. Kirk agreed with the Charlottesville Nazis that jews and others were trying to replace whites in America and that jews controlled too much of our media and supported anti-white organizations. He thought his unwavering support of Israel – including the genocide now going on in Gaza – made him not antisemetic.

          5. Kirk denounced Hindus and Islamic believers in America for their beliefs and said they needed to realize they were in a monotheistic Christain country (he obviously did not agree that our constitution acknowledges no state religions).

          6. He accused MLK of being a bad guy no one liked and falsely accused George Floyd of dying of an overdose.

dangle, Kirk repeatedly framed all issues of race in America as being anti-white and thus opposed any attempts to right the wrongs of slavery and segregation.

          • Jazzman I read a lot of your comments because I don’t mind disagreeing with people and I like seeing other people’s opinions. To be honest there may be once or twice that I thought you had a point and or you may have been right. I think you are probably pretty smart and because of that I believe that you know that context matters and the whole story matters. It is oblivious that you want to leave out the truth about things you don’t like or don’t want to believe is true. Jesus is the answer and may he have mercy on your soul.

          • OH NO, Jazzman, it’s not fair to use a dead man’s own public words and sentiments against him when a whole political apparatus is trying to venerate him and make the entire nation kiss the hem of his garment. Shame on you (LOL).

  • Well, it’s certain that Certain was not paying attention during the whole Rockwell fiasco.

  • Dear Mrs Certain,
Please read your comments carefully before posting. I don’t know if your supporters tell you this, but if they don’t, they should.

Proofread your comments with the idea that everyone in the district will read them. If you didn’t like what Kirk said about Michelle and others, say as much. That is, don’t expect people to translate “uneducated white boy” as anything other than what’s blatantly written, especially people who aren’t familiar with Kirk.

You weren’t celebrating his death. I agree the “funeral” was very political (some speakers, anyhow). I saw highlights and read about it (didn’t watch it either). Your comment would have been fine had you said “college drop out” as opposed to “uneducated white boy.”

I don’t care for the foul things Loomer and Trump say. Thankfully, they are not in charge of this county’s school system. You are, however, and I know you can be better than this.

  • Here’s a theory.
Tina did this to entrap the state. Since the state didn’t do anything to the other activist, who just happens to be white, she figures the state won’t do anything to her. If it does, she’s going to shout racial discrimination from the tree tops and anywhere else.
People like her look for those with deep pockets to maximize their settlements without having to go to court. She’s probably already got Ben on speed dial.

  • Some of the smartest people I know didn’t attend college. Going to college doesn’t automatically make someone smart. Certain is an ignorant fool.

  • Certain is a commie Obama relic. Bitter because millionaires didn’t sponsor her rapper career.

  • This type of rhetoric is what CREATES racism. Keep stoking those flames. But realize when the genie comes out you won’t be able to put him back in the bottle.

  • Yes, we saw the commie crown and the Melody club hags yelling and screaming while Certain egged them on. Shameful.

  • From what I can observe, it appears that the private schools in the county are THRIVING. And serving in many cases, a diverse and wide ranging group of students. Perhaps there are reasons why?

At any rate, a prime goal of schools is EDUCATION. And along with education, should come WISDOM.

  • Its offensive that Rep. Cammack calls for Mrs. Certain to resign over a post on her personal FB page – which, by the way, is protected free speech per the U.S. Constitution.
I call for Cammack to resign for her complicity in protecting child rapists since she refuses to demand the release of the full Epstein files.
Cammack should be ashamed that while she has the power to act to find justice for the hundreds (some say thousands) of victims of Epstein and his rich, influential friends she refuses to do so.
Protecting child rapists will be Cammack’s legacy long after she is out of office, and a horrid legacy her daughter will need to live with.

    • Still bottched up.
Refer back to the 2nd comment.

I realize you’re not a real politician, (although you do a lot of bootlicking), think of all the times you’ve been asked to go away – yet you’re still here.

We can’t all get what we want can we?

    • Susan, none of the comments attacking you are defending Cammack, and that means you win this thread. Cammack is a knee jerk MAGA/Trump loyalists who has done nothing of substance since being in office and is affraid to meet publicly with her constituents in the largest city in her district. She’s good at getting on Fox News and wrapping herself in the flag but the Fox talking heads aren’t who she is supposed to be working for.

  • BIG QUESTION Who wrote the response for her? Maybe a better candidate.

She has been able to under preform at government jobs for decades. Yet she cries discrimination. There are people who would just be grateful for the abundance of opportunities that she has had. And they wouldn’t whine about their job publicly and be an embarrassment to the city.
How humiliating is it to be a school board member who cannot write a social media comment carefully? How humiliating that the children under her care can’t read? How humiliating to called a racist and know that it is true.

  • I totally agree with Kat Kammock. I hope someday people in Alachua County will realize that every person has worth.

  • Oh look, another right-wing “free-speech absolutist,” LOL. As if Tina Certain said anything that wasn’t objectively true. If fact, Kirk was all about white-centered “identity politics,” and he did indeed drop out of his first year of college. But then he joined forces with a billionaire sugar daddy so that he could be an “activist.”

  • Isn’t it ironic that the more education a Democrat has, the less wisdom and common sense they seem to possess. They completely lose any sense of individuality and conform to a hive mind mentality. I won’t pretend to know Tina Certain’s education level, but based on her complete lack of common sense, she should probably be in possession of at least four doctorates.
