Lynady sentenced to 50 years for murder of Maliyah Godwin

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Jason Lee Lynady, Sr., 38, has been sentenced to 50 years in state prison for the murder of 13-year-old Maliyah Godwin on April 23, 2021.
Lynady was indicted by a Grand Jury for first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, tampering with physical evidence, and tampering with a witness on April 23, 2021. On April 25, 2023, Lynady entered a plea of nolo contendere to second-degree murder (a lesser included charge) and the other three original charges, and Judge James Colaw sentenced him to 50 years in state prison on the second-degree murder charge, with credit for 455 days served. He was sentenced to 15 years, 5 years, and 5 years on the other charges, with the sentences running concurrently.
Need to bring back the guillotine, this idiot is the perfect candidate. Enjoy those 50 years buddy.
Why does this person get to take an innocent life, but we don’t get to take his in the form of a death sentence? It’s not justice.
He’s small, smug & killed a child. He won’t survive in there with that on his papers. Especially not anywhere near 50 years.
This basically IS a death sentence for him.
Because “we” don’t judge him God will.
