Man arrested for trying to buy images of nude underage girls sentenced to one year in prison
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Shane Edward Wolf, 36, has been sentenced to one year and seven days in state prison, followed by three years of sex offender probation, after entering an open plea to four felonies associated with trying to buy images of nude underage girls on the Internet.
The investigation was prompted by a CyberTip about a 35-minute video posted on MeetMe in which Wolf said, among other things, “If you got pictures, of girls, between the ages of eleven and seventeen, naked, to sell to me so I can give them to my employer so he can do the things he does.”
Wolf was arrested on April 21, 2022, and released on $5,000 bail after two days. He entered an open plea of nolo contendere on September 11, 2023, to soliciting a sexual performance by a child, attempting to solicit a sexual performance by a child, soliciting child sexual abuse material, and unlawful use of a two-way communications device. The maximum sentence for the charges is 20 years in prison.
On October 16, Judge William Davis sentenced Wolf to one year and seven days in state prison on each count, followed by three years of sex offender probation, with the prison sentences all served concurrently.
A ‘Wolf’ in jail attire (not sheep’s clothing). Sounds appropriate.
Hope his new roommates don’t find out what he is in there for … oh wait yes I do
Did they follow up to at least see who his employer is, I mean just in case? Either way, a year is a pretty light sentence.
Probably lighter than you’d think it would be because he pled and it also sounds like they only got him for solicitation and not for possession.
Most likely wasn’t buying anything for an employer…that was likely said as an excuse just in case he got caught.
WHY ARE THESE SENTENCES SO LIGHT?
