Man on probation arrested with 300 Blackout AR pistol and 9mm pistol

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Patric J’Kwaun Lee, 19, was arrested yesterday and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; he is on probation after being released from prison in September 2023 and is also facing 15 sworn complaints for burglary and theft.

At about 3:25 p.m. yesterday, Gainesville Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Lee for speeding; the officers were reportedly familiar with Lee and knew he had never been issued a driver’s license.

Before the vehicle stopped, officers reported seeing Lee and his passenger leaning into the back seat and moving things around.

A search of the vehicle reportedly produced an Anderson Arms 300 Blackout AR pistol, 19 rounds of 300 Blackout ammunition in a magazine, a 9mm Ruger LC9 handgun with one round in the chamber and six rounds in a magazine, and one .45 caliber round.

Post Miranda, Lee reportedly admitted ownership of all the firearms and ammunition.

Lee has been charged with driving without a valid license and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

When he was 17, Lee was charged as an adult with three counts of sexual battery or attempt with injury on a person under 12 by a person under 18, and additional charges of sexual battery on a child under 12 were added in June 2022. Lee went to trial on the original charges of sexual battery on a person under 12 and was acquitted. Regarding the charges added in 2022, he entered a plea of nolo contendere to a charge of aggravated battery with intent to commit a felony, and the charges of sexual battery and lewd/lascivious behavior on a victim under 12 were dropped. Lee served one year and one week in state prison and is currently serving three years and 11 months of probation.

Lee was released from prison on September 20, 2023, and he has been charged with burglarizing a car on October 22. Lee is also a suspect in 16 car burglaries in the Sorority Row area on December 2. He is facing 15 sworn complaints for burglary, theft, and property damage.

Lee allegedly violated his probation by failing a drug test on December 5 and reportedly admitted using marijuana around November 22. He also failed to show up for a mandated sexual offender evaluation. The arrest yesterday was the third violation of his probation.

Judge Susan Miller-Jones ordered Lee held without bail for violating probation and set bail at $130,000 on one of the burglary cases and $55,000 on yesterday’s charges; he has not had his first appearance on the remaining burglary cases yet.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • “The arrest yesterday was the third violation of his probation.”

You mean to tell me the prosecutors office let’s violent criminals drive without a drivers licence and possess weapons until the 3rd offence?
    Ridiculous!

    • Thanks to our state attorney office he has been allowed to continue his string of crimes and added more victims.

    • What’s becoming obvious is how ridiculous the disservice the SAO is providing in protecting the public. Maybe you should get your own protection, (if legally able).

He’s had enough opportunities, next time skip the judge and jury part.

  • He looks remorseful. Perhaps he deserves another “shot” at making things right.

  • Lock this nut up for good. He is a danger to society. Geeze. Doesn’t take a brain surgeon to understand that.

  • I would love to hear from folks that were on the jury at the trial where he was acquitted. On the docket, in the documents public can view, it sure sounds as if 3 or 4 kids in the 8-12 age range gave very specific details about what he did to them. I can’t believe he was acquitted!

  • Should have been locked the first time for good then this wouldn’t have been here

  • Don’t worry, this guy is facing a Federal gun charge:
“Many individuals believe that they can only be charged under federal law if they cross state lines with a firearm. However, this is not the case. The federal statute 18 U.S.C. § 922(g) applies to anyone who fits within the category of an individual disqualified from firearm possession and is found in possession of a firearm, regardless of where the person currently resides or where the firearm is currently located.”
    “922(g) has a mandatory 5 year sentence”.

So, Mr. Lee you better back your bags because besides whatever time you get in Florida for your other charges, you’re going to Club Fed for at least the next 5 years.

    • 5, 10, 20, life should be advertised on city buses & social justice murals…” if you’re a felon and get caught with a gun, you’re done! 10, 20, life!”…I’ve had it with this BS. They need to be locking these guys up and prison is the only tool we have in the toolbox.

      • 10-20-life is BS that’s an old law that rarely pays a part in todays sentencing of criminals not going to scare or change nothing for no criminal sad to say

  • Another convicted felony in possession of guns, and an apparent crime spree. This guy has no future living outside a prison. At 19 he has a criminal history that most criminals could not amass in a life time. At least law enforcement has these types on radar and they put his butt in jail. It’s time for the SAO to do their jobs. Probation and other light sentencing is not for this gun toting CHESTER.

  • The Anderson Arms 300 Blackout AR pistol is an exotic and pricey firearm. I wager it was stolen in a burglary. This guy is a heavily armed sex offender who breaks into houses for a living. He is one of the offenders that belongs in state custody till he is 50.

  • He can’t be rehabbed to live in society. Life in prison with parole at age 70 to protect us from predators like him. The way to reduce crime is to lock up dangerous criminals for very long prison sentences with no chance of early parole.

  • The prosecutors on this case should be tried and convicted as well. They are hired uphold the law and to prosecute criminals. And it doesn’t sound like they did a very good job with this one.

  • 19!!!! He is only 19. Clearly,he was raised in an abusive environment. I bet if you interviewed people that knew him as he grew up, they would not be surprised by this outcome. He is a savage with no regard for others. Lock him up and throw away the key.
